Just when we thought we’d seen it all… On Jan. 19, 2026, Joey Swoll called out a shirtless man humping machines, stressing that the gym is not a strip club.
“I can’t believe I have to tell someone in 2026 NOT to hump gym equipment. We’re cooked.”
Joey Swoll, nicknamed ‘The CEO of Gym Positivity,’ has made it his mission to make fitness more accessible for everyone. He speaks up for those he feels have been wronged or criticized unfairly, but also goes after gym-goers who lack decency and respect.
The lengths to which people go to make content have definitely stirred controversy. Swoll has even encountered young women pretending to have Down syndrome just for views and likes. This latest incident has Swoll once again focused on making gyms more welcoming environments.
Joey Swoll Reacts to Shirtless Man Humping Gym Machines
In the Instagram reel, Swoll underscored that humping gym machines is one of the cringiest things you can do at the gym:
“This is one of the most cringe things that I have ever seen in the gym, and it’s your entire page. Video after video of you humping gym equipment? Seriously? I’m sorry. The gym is not a strip club, your Tinder dating profile, or a Magic Mike audition,” he said.

He notes that minors and teens train in the gym. Beyond that, gym-goers may be less inclined to use equipment after it’s been privately danced on.
“Nobody in the gym wants to see this nonsense. Let alone use a piece of equipment after you do your best P Diddy impersonation on it. Not to mention, you do know there are teens and minors that work out in the gym, too, right?
So, put your shoes on, put a shirt on, work out, and stop humping gym equipment. I can’t even believe that I have to say that in 2026. Stop humping gym equipment. You need to do better.”
Believe it or not, but a situation like this has crossed Swoll’s desk in the past. He recently called attention to a woman who rubbed her crotch on a dip bar at the gym. He emphasized that not only is it disgusting, but unsanitary. Further, Swoll contends that OnlyFans has plagued the fitness landscape, leading to a wave of gross, explicit content.
Swoll hopes gym-goers practice more consideration in the future. For the time being, he plans to continue focusing on making fitness more welcoming for all walks of life.
