Ugolnikov ‘Good Vito’ Vitalii is taking a much-needed break from competition. On Feb. 10, 2026, Good Vito confirmed he will take a year off from bodybuilding to focus on his health.

From the moment he stepped into the IFBB Pro League, Good Vito’s been on a fast track to the top. His leg mass and definition rival Olympia champions, like former two-time titleholder Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay. These comparisons have led to widespread discussions about his ceiling in the Open class.

In 2025, Vito secured gold at the Arnold Classic South America, where he defeated Leandro Sencini Peres and Marcelo Pedro Da Cruz handily. He planned to compete at the stacked Pittsburgh Pro, but pulled out due to a back injury. However, that didn’t stop him at the ‘Super Bowl of Bodybuilding.’ Vito shocked fans en route to securing 10th place in his debut.

Having remained active for years, Vito now has the chance to leverage the downtime to bring an improved physique to the stage. After announcing his plan to rest, fans thought he had given up, prompting a response from the rising star.

In his Instagram stories, Vito confirmed his plan to take the rest of the year off. He added that he hasn’t given up despite speculation from fans.

“For 10 years I have competed in championships, and in those 10 years I never missed a single season of preparation. I always moved forward and pushed through difficulties, which reflects a strong character and champion’s mindset. But the moment I said I would take one year to focus on my health, some people saw me as weak and claimed that I had given up.”

“One step back, one mistake, and you lose your value in the eye, and showed respect. That’s life. Hard times truly reveal who your friends are and who genuinely supports you,” he shared

Good Vito hasn’t been the only bodybuilder with momentum to take a break for health. Tonio Burton bowed out of the 2024 Mr. Olympia despite qualifying for the event. His coach explained that the decision was based on health, longevity, and taking a rest from performance-enhancing substances.

Despite the time away from the stage, Good Vito is one of the most hyped newcomers to make waves in the Men’s Open class. Should he provide any updates or plans to compete, Fitness Volt will have the story.
