Michal ‘Krizo’ Krizanek is just days away from the 2026 New York Pro. Ahead of the event on May 5, 2026, he pushed through an arm workout with Chinedu Andrew ‘Jacked’ Obiekea and Mike Sommerfeld.
“It’s going to be an easier biceps and triceps, and shoulder workout.”
Hosted by head judge Steve Weinberger, the annual New York Pro has become one of the most prestigious contests on the calendar. Many of its champions have gone on to win Mr. Olympia titles, like Phil Heath and Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay.
In 2025, Krizo took bronze at the New York Pro, behind William Bonac and Nick Walker. He qualified for the 2026 Mr. Olympia courtesy of his British Grand Prix Pro victory, giving Krizo the chance to compete with less pressure on the East Coast.

In the video, Krizo shared that his appetite hasn’t suffered despite more intense preparations.
“I’ve been hungry for a pretty long time,” Krizo explained. “It is a lot, but I am hungry. I am looking forward to every meal. Of course, I’m hungry; the coach increased the food a bit now.”
Heading into the show, he plans to slowly carb up to present a full, conditioned physique. Instead of salmon, red meat has become one of his top protein sources.
“Starting today, I have slightly higher carbs. I am having around 520 grams of carbs. I had salmon before, but now I have steak, olive oil, avocado, so some fats too. We’re basically starting to slowly carb up, and probably starting Thursday, we’ll increase it even further.”
Bodybuilding veterans aren’t dismissing Krizo’s chances in New York. According to coach Chris Aceto, the Slovakian mass monster is the most dangerous competitor in the lineup. He noted that Krizo’s width and stature are challenging to stand against.
Former 1983 Mr. Olympia Samir Bannout offered Krizo blunt advice. He urged the Open star to refine his posing and stage presentation to enhance his symmetry, which he believes would give him the edge against competitors with strong balance.
After training with Jacked and Sommerfeld, Krizo is ready to put on a show. The 2026 New York Pro is set for May 8-9 in Teaneck, New Jersey.
