This year’s 2022 Arnold Classic division lineups are stacked with talent and took place from March 3-6. Terrence Ruffin retained his title to become a two-time Arnold Classic, Classic Physique champion.
The stakes for the Classic Physique division will be even higher after the Arnold Classic announced earlier this year winners will see a jump in prize money from $6,000 to $60,000. Classic Physique competitors will take to the stage Friday happening from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. for prejudging. Finals will kick off in the evening happening from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
While preparing for the show, several athletes have grabbed headlines after sharing their respective physiques. 2018 Arnold Classic and Mr. Olympia winner Breon Ansley is entering the show with lots of hype. Many believe his toned back could mean lights out for his fellow competition. Meanwhile, 2021 Arnold Classic champ, Terrence Ruffin looks well-conditioned and eager to replicate his performance from last year as he aims for his second Arnold Classic trophy on Friday night.
With dark horses like Urs Kalecinski and Ramon Rocha Querioz in the mix, the lineup of talent in Classic Physique this year is outstanding. Urs kept quiet for much of the season but turned heads this week with his aesthetic physique. On the other hand, Ramon Rocha Querioz has also brought a well-rounded package to the show which has fans buzzing too.
Defending champion Terrence Ruffin put on an incredible showing and secured another Arnold Classic Physique title. Brazil’s Ramon Rocha Queiroz came in second place and got one of the biggest roars from the crowd during his routine. Many were surprised to see Breon Ansley fall short of the podium as he came in fourth at this year’s 2022 Arnold Classic.
With Terrence Ruffin’s recent victory, he is now the first athlete to win the Arnold Classic title in the Classic Physique division twice.
