Breon Ansley has bold and ambitious plans for 2025. In a recent YouTube video shared on January 13, 2025, Ansley discussed the new bulking steroid cycle he plans to use as well as how Keone Pearson inspired him to make the move into Men’s 212 Bodybuilding.
You can’t look back on the history of the Classic Physique division in the IFBB Pro League without highlighting Breon Ansley‘s name. He displayed exceptional balance, muscularity, and posing skills to capture the Classic Physique Olympia title not once –but twice (2017, 2018). He remains one of the few men to defeat Chris Bumstead in competition, too.
At his last Olympia contest, Ansley cruised into fifth place with an impressive look. He continues to defy the odds at 45 years old, regularly holding his own against the best in the world. However, he’s decided to make his long-anticipated transition into 212 Bodybuilding, where he’ll have the chance to face off against titans of the class, including two-time 212 Olympias Shaun Clarida and Keone Pearson, the reigning champion.

“I’m not too close. Just smoke. It’s kind of close so the air quality is kind of bad with one of the cities next to me, Van Nuys, they had to evacuate just for one day. But I think I’m safe now. But we have winds coming back, today, tomorrow, the next day. We still have to be on guard.”
Breon Ansley discussed his upcoming bulking phase and steroid stack.
“We’re going to just be doing a bulking one soon. A bulking phase soon. We’re going to add in some things. Of course, my coach Brandon Gerdes, and I, we never need to use high doses of anything but we’re going to add some bulking agents in there.”
Unlike his last cycle, which was used to refine his physique, this protocol will be primarily focused on bulking efforts.
“We’re going to add some bulking agents in there coming up in maybe a couple of weeks to really try to put on some mass because that cycle there [2024 Olympia] is the pre-contest cycle, focusing on just refinement and cutting it down” He said.
“We’re going to bulk up and yeah, we’re going to do that for a good 20-22 weeks.”
After recently announcing his transition to the Men’s 212, Breon Ansley revealed how Keone Pearson influenced his decision.
“A big reason of what helped me make this decision was Keone’s look. Keone’s look and the prowess of the champ, the prowess that Keone has right now. Keone is looking really powerful, he’s looking really strong and he has just a massive Classic look.”
“He has a lot of mass with the Classic look. He kept the Classic look, remember Keone came from Classic. He has that look. He has that look on like I’m sure he’s looking like okay yeah, now he has the look on that he’s happy with.”
Since Breon Ansley always had to adhere to a strict weight cap for the Classic Physique category, fans believe he will now have new weapons at his disposal thanks to the added muscle he’s allotted to carry in the 212 category. His move to the division has spurred major excitement as we might be on the precipice of witnessing his best package yet.
Breon Ansley’s longevity and experience as a bodybuilder will no doubt play into his hands in 2025. Best of all, he plans to compete at a 212 event before the Olympia to get accustomed to his new surroundings.
