Calum Von Moger is after a more slim, streamlined physique with plans of dropping 10 pounds in the near future. Taking to a recent YouTube video on October 30, 2024, Von Moger discussed his physique goals as he aims to become more athletic and shared a fast-paced high-volume upper body workout.

“Back in the USA now. About to grab a quick feed at one of my favorite spots. After that, we’re going to go get a workout at Gold’s Gym. Not exactly sure what we’re going to do but probably just a combination of CrossFit and weights. Just a mix-up, maybe full body, maybe lower body.”

Calum Von Moger‘s life has been anything but easy. He broke his back and suffered painful lacerations after jumping out of a two-story window. He was put into a medically-induced coma to recover from the catastrophic injuries. Although doctors had their doubts, Von Moger went on to make a full recovery.

He’s also dealt with legal troubles, like a road rage incident that resulted in his arrest. And while he resolved these issues in court, trouble still followed the Australian bodybuilding star. His brother, Eddie Von Moger’s body was found off a beach coast after committing suicide. Instead of succumbing to despair, Von Moger’s commitment to fitness has helped him remain clear-headed.

Calum Von Moger Says He’s Dropping 10 Lbs to Get ‘More Athletic’

Von Moger made it clear that he intends to lose weight and understands that his goal might result in some muscle loss, which he’s okay with.

“Doing higher reps, less rest, and more focused towards aerobic fitness stamina endurance, still a bit of hypertrophy but honestly, my goal is to lose like 10 pounds and just see what my body has feeling there. May even lose another 15 pounds and I’m going to probably sacrifice some muscle size and that’s alright.”

Aiming to be more athletic, Von Moger hinted at a new fitness goal without disclosing specifics. It seems that bodybuilding may not be his focus, as hypertrophy is not his top priority. However, while speaking with Larry Wheels on a podcast, Von Moger did express interest in bodybuilding

“I want to actually trim up so I can actually be more athletic. I’m excited. It’s the first time in my life I’m going to be okay with losing size. I’m looking forward to getting into a new body, new fitness, and new goals. Can’t say exactly what it is,” he shared.

  • Diamond push-ups (superset B)
  • Triceps pushdowns (superset A)
  • Barbell curls (superset B)

During Von Moger’s workout, he utilized supersets which have a range of benefits. Combining two exercises in rapid succession not only saves you time but can also help build muscle more efficiently. In addition, the high-intensity nature of this workout method improves muscular endurance and allows for more caloric burn, making it ideal for anyone looking to lose weight, as Von Moger aims to do.

While it’s unclear exactly what Von Moger has planned, he wants to remain athletic and focus on aerobic endurance. Having gone through more than his fair share of adversity, Von Moger seems optimistic about what’s to come next.
