Chris Bumstead is mapping out his game plan to win a fifth title in November. In a recent YouTube video, Bumstead shared his 3,500-calorie off-season diet and revealed he’s currently weighing 253 pounds with plans to grow.
After taking the Classic Physique Olympia crown from Breon Ansley in 2019, Bumstead has proven himself as a dominant champion with a balance of muscle detail, shape, and conditioning. His success and aesthetic physique elevated his star power, making him easily one of the most popular bodybuilders to ever step on stage behind Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Given the Classic qualities Bumstead displays, which are reminiscent of the Golden Era of bodybuilding, Schwarzenegger believes the Classic Physique Olympia winner should be dubbed Mr. Olympia. Bumstead, who sits with four Classic Physique titles, has made it clear he’s on the hunt for at least one more.
With bodybuilding’s biggest event on the horizon, Bumstead has ramped up training under the guidance of coach Hany Rambod. He offered fans a closer look at a chest-building routine just a few days ago. Now, Cbum is sharing his latest off-season diet, which consisted of five meals.

253-Lb Chris Bumstead Shares Off-Season Diet: “Time to Get Huge”
Bumstead says he’s weighing 253 pounds and believes his diet will be bumped up in a few weeks if his weight doesn’t increase.
“Weighing 253 pounds consistently, so I’m probably going to bump this up in a few weeks if my weight doesn’t change and go from there,” said Bumstead.
Find a full day of eating from Bumstead below:
Meal 1 – breakfast (1073 calories, 59 grams of protein, 47 grams of fat, 101 grams of carbs)
- Aloe Vera juice
- pear juice
- glutamine
- super fiber
- vanilla protein powder
- apple cider vinegar
- blueberries
- raspberries
- banana
- ginger

- local honey from Stuart Florida
Bumstead said his recent blood work came back with positive findings.
“The official first full day of eating in my off-season. I just did blood work on Friday. And I’m not dying, so God bless, time to get huge. Actually, I don’t want to get too huge this year so I’m not going to be pushing food like crazy, I don’t want to be fat.”
“I’ve been making a smoothie every weekday for breakfast, on weekends, Courtney makes me waffles. I’m trying not to eat pancakes and waffles every day or else I get sick of them. We’re enjoying them on the weekends.”
Meal 2 (481 calories, 40 grams of protein)
- 180 grams of ground turkey
- 250 grams of sweet potato
- ketchup
Meal 3 – Meaga Fit Meals (760 calories)
- 180 grams of beef

“Perfect way to build in the off-season with a beautiful pre-workout meal,” added Bumstead.
Meal 4 – post-workout meal (706 calories)
- 200 grams ground bison pattys
- 250 grams white rice

Bumstead maintains a healthy diet despite being in the off-season.
“It’s super simple, super easy. Clearly, you clearly you guys realize I’m starting to bulk and I don’t feel like poo. This is the closest thing to a burger that I would ever have consistently. I don’t know where the discretion of bodybuilding and just eating like shit and getting huge came in because bodybuilding was initially a healthy way to help your body and to be disciplined with your diet and to put good things in your body; care about it. And then it turned into people eating Chic-Fil-A and McDonald’s,” Bumstead shared.
Meal 5 – Meaga Fit Meals final meal (600 calories)
- 180 grams of chicken breast
- 200 grams of white rice
- 20 grams of olive oil in seasoning
Previously, Cbum preferred shakes as his last meal but said he’s eating more whole food because it makes him feel less bloated.
“It’s an easy food to digest. I used to have protein shakes all the time before shake. Sometimes when I have a sandwich and a protein shake it makes me feel bloated, so I’m having normal food right now,” said Chris Bumstead.

In addition to training and dieting, Bumstead recently made a pitstop on the Full Send Podcast, where he discussed a hypothetical match-up against Arnold Schwarzenegger. According to Bumstead, he would defeat Schwarzenegger if he brought his best to the 2022 Olympia stage last December. Samir Bannout, who competed against Arnold, said Bumstead wouldn’t have bested the legend back in 1971 or 1972.
