Having yet to officially retire, fans and bodybuilding veterans are holding out hope to see Kai Greene back on stage. In a recent The Menace Podcast, Dennis James and George Farah break down whether or not ‘The Predator’ is planning a major comeback.
During his time on top, Kai Greene was known for more than just freaky muscle volume. His eccentric personality translated into his posing routines at the highest level and he nearly won the sport’s most prestigious title. However, Greene was never able to topple seven-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath despite forging one of the sport’s greatest rivalries ever witnessed on a bodybuilding stage.
For years, rumors about ‘The Predator’s’ return have circulated, but none have come to fruition. While we have watched the sport evolve into what it is now, there are some in the community who believe Greene could still pose a major threat to competitors in today’s landscape, coach George Farah and Dennis James included.

“George, is Kai Greene ever going to go back on stage?” asks Dennis James
“I don’t know brother. You know, last year I thought for sure he’s going to go back but you know how it is — it’s hard,” said George Farah.
While it could merely be a rumor, Dennis James heard Greene was considering a show outside of the IFBB Pro League in Dubai.
“I heard through the grapevine I don’t know if it’s true or not it’s probably a rumor… but I heard that he is planning on doing a show,” said Dennis James.
“He didn’t tell me anything. We were just talking yesterday. He didn’t mention anything to me,” says Farah. “Somebody sponsors him from Dubai now. He got sponsored from Dubai. He’s not with RedCon1 anymore. He’s sponsored by, so maybe that’s what you heard.”
“No. I’m talking about, this is just a rumor I guess, this Classic show that’s not associated with any federation or I think it’s not,” shared James. “I heard that there is a shit-load of prize money, like huge prize money. I don’t know, so maybe it’s just talk.”
After speaking with Greene yesterday, Farah was unsure about the rumor Dennis James heard.
“Yeah, could be just talk, like I said, he didn’t mention nothing and we just talked yesterday.”
“He’s still training and he’s still big,” said Dennis James.
“I think he’s like 47,” adds Farah.
With a ‘you never know’ attitude, fans, and bodybuilding voices are unsure if they will witness Kai Greene back on a bodybuilding stage. It should be noted that in 2023, Greene reiterated that he wasn’t retired, but wouldn’t commit to any competitions plans at the time:
“I would never want to say never,” said Greene. “I never officially retired and you never know. This is a new year. 2023 is certainly something to be excited about. I guess the best thing I can say is you just can’t count the guy out. You never know.”
“I am not retired. I am not in any way like that whole idea of moving on. I think you’re supposed to progressively move forward with the development that is important to you and that you’re willing to realize. I think that I’m supposed to be inspiring to do more, expand, and aim to be even more successful. The size of my vision is really what’s on display.”
Even though Kai Greene has yet to finalize imminent competition plans, the credentialed veteran has made it a point to train with this era’s crop of top Pros. Recently, Greene joined hands with Open star Andrew Jacked for a grueling leg workout in Dubai. Considering his experience level, Greene led the way and provided insight during the training session.
It remains uncertain whether or not fans will get to see Kai Greene competing on a bodybuilding stage. Regardless, it is evident that he has looked after his physique while away from the stage, boasting jarring size and detail daily.
