Joey Swoll has become a beloved and respected figure in the fitness community. After a health scare in 2023 that prompted emergency heart surgery, Joey Swoll recently provided a reassuring update on Instagram, revealing that his heart is functioning at peak performance.

Joey Swoll is a fitness influencer who has been changing gym culture for the better. On a mission to shut down those looking for views at the expense of others, Swoll created his company Gym Positivity, which focuses on making people feel safe while working out.

While on his journey to build others up, Joey Swoll has discussed how he never meant to become the gym police and wishes he didn’t have to keep calling people out for acting inappropriately. Talking about how he started his company Gym Positivity, Swoll was candid about his mental health struggles which included sharing his attempted suicide.

Unfortunately, in 2023 Joey Swoll had to undergo emergency heart surgery after finding out he had ‘genetic irregularities.’ Swoll used this as an opportunity to educate others about their health and stressed that if you are feeling off go get checked.

Joey Swoll Gives 1-Year Update Following Life-Threatening Heart Surgery: “I Can’t Even Explain How Happy This Made Me”

A year later, Joey Swoll has provided fans with an update regarding his heart health and it is better than expected. After seeing a cardiologist, Swoll was informed that his heart was functioning at its best.

“One year ago I was rushed in for emergency heart surgery to save my life. Since then I have felt a sense of impending doom and restless anxiety every single day, just waiting for tragedy. Today, I met with my cardiologist and he gave me the BEST news.

All my tests show my heart function is BETTER THAN EVER and he is taking me off almost all the meds he had me on. I can’t even explain how happy this made me and how grateful I am. Finally, I feel like I can live and breathe again. I feel like I can hope and dream of having a future and a family again…” Swoll wrote

It didn’t take long for the bodybuilding community to extend their appreciation for Swoll’s update, one of which was former eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman

With his eyes locked on a prosperous future, Joey Swoll couldn’t be more thrilled by his optimistic health update. Over the last few years, the bodybuilding community has witnessed several untimely deaths, which have shaken the community to its core. Most notably, former Mr. Olympia Shawn Rhoden died from suspected heart issues in 2021 and Cedric McMillan passed away in 2022 from unknown causes.

As of this year, popular bodybuilding influencer Jo Lindner also died tragically with many suspecting an aneurysm to be the cause of death. It’s safe to say there are plenty of dangers associated with the sport, so Swoll is happy to report a clean bill of health heading into 2024.
