Larry Wheels has amassed a lot of success in his sporting career, but one achievement kept eluding him for years. Namely, Larry had a goal to become a professional bodybuilder. Well, his dream officially came true at the 2025 Musclecontest Ireland, which took place on May 16-17 in Dublin. Larry came out victorious in the Classic Physique division and secured his IFBB Pro Card.

Larry Wheels has had an interest in bodybuilding for multiple years now, but his desire to claim the IFBB Pro Card intensified in recent times. That being said, Larry only had a six-week prep for the Musclecontest Ireland show. This was clearly enough, as he came in shredded, beating his rivals and winning the amateur division.

Shortly after getting his IFBB Pro Card, Larry Wheels joined the lineup for the 2025 IFBB Musclecontest Bullman Pro, which was held as a part of the same event in Dublin. He immediately got the taste of the experience of competing among the best bodybuilders in the world, finishing in 10th place out of 12 athletes.

While he did undergo a short prep cycle, Larry Wheels still got help from some of the best bodybuilders ever. Jay Cutler guided him through a back day and helped with his posing. On the other hand, one of the greatest active competitors in the Classic Physique, Wesley Vissers, coached him through a push day.

This comes nearly a year after Larry Wheels revealed that he was quitting bodybuilding, having relapsed on a full steroid cycle. Going back another year, Larry narrowly missed out on the IFBB Pro Card at the 2023 Amateur Olympia. However, he clearly couldn’t contain himself from trying once more, this time walking away with a fulfilled goal.

Now that he has claimed the IFBB Pro Card, Larry Wheels seems even more excited to step back on the stage. This can be deduced from his recent Instagram post, where he called out another popular fitness figure who recently secured his pro card, Sam Sulek. Larry clearly wants to share the competition floor with Sulek, who is also a competitor in the Classic Physique division.

Larry Wheels started his career as a powerlifter, setting multiple all-time world records and cementing his legacy as one of the strongest men in history. He then shifted his focus to multiple sports, including arm wrestling and Strongman. However, while attempting a heavy deadlift in preparation for a Strongman competition, Larry suffered a back injury, prompting him to abandon his goals in the sport. However, he then moved on to bodybuilding, where, after a lot of work, he managed to secure the IFBB Pro Card.
