Bodybuilder Logan Franklin is plotting his next move in the IFBB Pro League circuit. On March 17, 2025, he joined Hany Rambod, opening up on his Arnold Classic peak, living with PTSD, and his contest plans on the horizon.
Logan Franklin flew under the radar heading into the 2025 Arnold Classic, especially after earning 13th place on the Olympia stage. He’s always had the Classic lines and posing skills to hang with the best, and with added mass, he made a powerful bid to take home the title. He ultimately lost to Mike Sommerfeld in Ohio, trailing five points behind him on the scorecards.
With more momentum than ever before, questions about his next contest are gaining traction. If he hopes to compete at the biggest event of the year, he’ll have to win a qualifier. Below, he detailed the challenges of bringing his best to Columbus, as well as what to expect from him in the future.

It’s been an obstacle-filled road for Franklin, but he was overjoyed to finally display his best on the 2025 Arnold Classic stage.

“It’s been a very bumpy road. It would have been totally understandable for anybody to just say fuck it. But, I don’t know if I’m just fucking lost in the head or if I was born with it or something, but I just can’t quit. I can’t give up. Whenever I truly believe in something, I can’t let it go. That’s where I was at the whole time chasing this dream.”
“I truly felt that I had this potential inside of me. I just haven’t been able to nail it and showcase what I have to the fullest of my ability because I can’t land on the day. It’s taken me such a long time. I’ve never peaked but you guys finally, the world finally got to see me peak at the Arnold,” he shared.
Along with the usual challenges of bodybuilding prep, Franklin manages post-traumatic stress disorder from his military service.
“I stressed myself out a lot of my career. I put so much pressure on myself. I live with PTSD and that doesn’t help. I don’t get the greatest sleep all the time so that doesn’t help.”
During his latest prep, Franklin withdrew from social media to commit fully to bodybuilding.
“I pulled back from social media just because social media is so freakin toxic. Like I said, looking at competitors isn’t what makes the anxiety go up, it’s reading the comments of little trolls or people that don’t understand what we’re doing.
They are just there to be haters. People that are just absolutely unhappy with themselves or whatever they got going on. I think that’s what bothers me the most.”
Moving forward, Franklin wants to focus on family before announcing his next bodybuilding contest. He says the Pittsburgh Pro and New York Pro are out of the question.
“What’s next for me… honestly, I’m not too sure right now. Yes sir, [I still have to qualify]. I’m definitely going to be figuring out which show that is going to be but right now it’s nothing within the next month or so. I need to take a step back and go okay, breather, family, boom, then I’m going to go in.”
“Great shows [Pittsburgh and New York] but I can’t do them because my son’s birthday, May 1, Pittsburgh is May 3rd. My wife’s birthday is May 9, New York is May-something, it’s right after my wife’s birthday. It’s almost like I refuse to be in that position on their birthday.”
He targeted a late qualifier and confirmed he will be at the 2025 Mr. Olympia.
“Yeah, we’re thinking a later show,” he shared. “Oh no doubt, we’re not going to try, we’re definitely going to qualify, and we’re definitely going to be at the Olympia.
It’s just right now, I want to make sure I’m healthy, which I am. I just got my blood work back and everything is great.”
Following his shock triumph on the Arnold Classic stage, Logan Franklin will have huge momentum if he can make his way back to Olympia. Should he announce a firm return date, Fitness Volt will keep you updated on his plans.
