Martin Fitzwater is riding high following one of the biggest wins of his career. On Oct. 26, 2025, he discussed defeating Samson Dauda at the Prague Pro, which has set him up for another major bodybuilding season.
Last year, Fitzwater put himself on the map by taking fourth place in his Olympia debut. Shortly after that, he defeated Chris Bumstead at the Prague Pro, who was making his one-off Men’s Open debut before retirement. In addition, he took out former two-time 212 Olympia champ Shaun Clarida in the Czech Republic.
With hype in his back pocket, he competed at the Pittsburgh Pro, but couldn’t match the dryness or fullness he had at the Olympia. This pushed Fitzwater into third place, but it lit a fire under him ahead of the Olympia.
When the stakes were at their highest, “The Martian” took home an impressive fifth-place finish in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Dauda, who lost his Olympia title to Lunsford, slipped to fourth place. Though Fitzwater wasn’t labeled a winner in most predictions for the 2025 Prague Pro, he proved the doubters wrong, putting him in a powerful spot as he eyes his future.

Martin Fitzwater Discusses Beating Samson Dauda at the 2025 EVLS Prague Pro
In the video, Fitzwater recapped the victory, revealing that this was the most comfortable and calm he’s ever been onstage.
“Something I really worked on in the last year is being comfortable, being confident, and knowing that no matter where the judges move me, that I’m still in the running for the win.”
He underlined that the package he’s bringing now is extremely dangerous, and competitors would have to bring their best to beat him going forward.
It was the most cool, calm, and composed I’ve ever been onstage. I also know the physique I’m bringing now is something very, very dangerous. Anyone is going to have to be at their best to beat me,” Martin Fitzwater shared.
The Men’s Open class has been turned on its head following the 2025 Olympia, with many curious as to who will jump into the next Arnold Classic. Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed that the Men’s Open winner will receive a life-changing $750,000 prize purse, the biggest payout in bodybuilding history.
Bodybuilding veteran Shawn Ray has indicated that Fitzwater intends to compete at the 2026 Arnold Classic. Chris Aceto also confirmed Andrew Jacked will enter the event, making this one of the most highly anticipated contests of the year.
