Michal ‘Krizo’ Krizanek is lifting heavy, pushing the pace ahead of his next bodybuilding contests. On February 26, 2025, he focused on gaining mass with an intense chest and biceps workout in prep for the 2025 Pittsburgh Pro and New York Pro.

Open Bodybuilder Michal Krizo is ready for a major season in the sport after facing obstacles last year. In his last contest, he finished in third place behind Behrooz Tabani and champion William Bonac at the 2024 Empro Classic Pro located in Alicante, Spain.

His bid to qualify for the 2024 Mr. Olympia was cut short after he suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery on two torn tendons. The healing process took some time, but now he’s ready to return better than ever, focusing on intense training and proper nutrition.

“We’re around 11 weeks out of the Pittsburgh Pro, 12 weeks out of New York Pro. We’re training chest and biceps. I am finally starting to increase the weights, as you can see.”

  • Single-Arm Preacher Curl

  • Cable Biceps Curl

In between sets of flat dumbbell bench presses, Krizo discussed his primary meat sources during prep.

“I have 0.5 kilograms of chicken. I do around 300 grams of beef and 300 grams of salmon [raw weight], quite a bit for my standards,” states Krizo.

The Slovakian bodybuilding star remains one of the most talked about names in the Men’s Open. With some of the biggest arms in the IFBB Pro League, many fans believe it’s only a matter of time before he’s pushing into the first callout at the annual Mr. Olympia competition. His bubbly muscle volume and roundness have bodybuilding legends like Jay Cutler comparing his physique to seven-time Mr. O Phil Heath

The Pittsburgh Pro is expected to be stacked with heavy hitters from the Open class, like Nick Walker and 2024 Olympia fourth-place finisher Martin Fitzwater. There’s also been speculation that Vitaliy ‘Good Vito’ Ugolnikov could enter this contest.

With his shoulder at near 100 percent, Krizo will have the opportunity to reinsert himself into the upper echelon of the Open in just a few months. He remains focused on bringing a physique to the stage that reflects the sacrifices he’s made inside the gym.
