Martins Licis Is 2019 World’s Strongest Man!
After a lot of brutal competition over 4 days and several unfortunate injuries, the World’s Strongest Man competition could only crown one man and that man is Martins Licis from the United States.
Poland’s Mateusz Kieliszkowski was the runner-up and Hafthor Bjornsson (2018 WSM winner) from Iceland finished third.
UPDATE: Check out the 2020 World’s Strongest Man Final Results
Now, the WSM event took place in Bradenton, Florida this year and there were some fierce athletes out there. But, as the events occurred many of the top guys had to bow out due to injuries. Last year’s WSM winner Hafthor Bjornsson tore his plantar fascia during the farmer’s walk/yolk medley.
Then, Sigfus Fossdal and Laurence Shahlaei were replaced after Achilles tendon issues. Konstantine Janashia tore a tricep and Robert Oberst suffered a bicep tear.
So, despite so many good competitors getting hurt, this year was still super exciting. Especially since the competition took place in the United States after so many years.
