Justin Medeiros vs Saxon Panchik

Justin Medeiros currently holds the title of Fittest Man On Earth®, and will try to defend it this year. At only 22-years-old, Justin took part in two CrossFit Games, and stood on the podium both times. He won the competition in 2021 and finished third in 2020. It will definitely be interesting to see him bring his best once again.

Saxon Panchik will be one of the closest rivals to Justin Medeiros. Saxon is a 4x CrossFit Games athlete, and his best placing came in 2021, as he finished in 5th place. He started the new season extremely well, and currently sits in third place with 380 repetitions in the 22.1 Workout. Saxon undoubtedly aims for at least a podium place in the 2022 CrossFit Games, and it is looking like a realistic goal.

Results

  • Justin Medeiros – 7:53
  • Saxon Panchik – 8:22

Emma Lawson vs Laura Horvath

Emma Lawson is probably the biggest rising star in the sport of CrossFit, as she is only 17-years-old. She has been in the sport since she was 7 and aims to become one of the greatest athletes on earth. Emma is yet to achieve some success in the overall women’s division, but this year could be the one.

Laura Horvath, on the other hand, is a very experienced athlete. She has taken part in CrossFit Games four times, and finished 2nd in  2018 and 2021. Laura accomplished the second-best thing in the sport, but she is still chasing for the title of Fittest Woman On Earth®.

Results

  • Laura Horvath – 9:31
  • Emma Lawson – 196 repetitions in 10 minutes

Following this workout, competitors will get one more chance to improve their placing. That will be in the 22.3 Open Workout, which will be revealed on March 10, 2022, 3:00 p.m. EST in Tennessee.

The Open Workout 22.1 submissions have been reviewed, and the current results are out. Both Saxon Panchik (3rd), and Justin Medeiros (5th) are in the top 5 of the RX’d men’s division. However, Emma Lawson (62nd), and Laura Horvath (199th) have had significantly lower placements, but there is still time to further improve. The official CrossFit Instagram account has published a top 5 list, which displays multiple divisions.
