The 2022 CrossFit Open is coming to an end, as the last workout has been revealed. The Open Workout 22.3 was announced on March 10, 2022, in Tennessee. The due date for video submissions is Monday, March 14, 2022, 8:00 p.m. EST. This workout could be very important for some athletes, as only 10% of athletes from each continent will get the chance to compete in the 2022 CrossFit Games Quarterfinals. The Quarterfinals will also be in the online format and will take place from June 2-5, 2022.

The 2022 CrossFit Open Workout 22.3 was revealed with an incredible duel between two elite CrossFit teams. We got to see the team “CrossFit Reykjavik” battle against “CrossFit Hendersonville”. As we have the 2x Fittest Woman On Earth®, Annie Thorisdottir, her experience could play a part, and bring CrossFit Reykjavik to the top.

CrossFit Reykjavik vs CrossFit Hendersonville

This is the first time we get to see CrossFit Reykjavik compete as a team. Earlier this year, Annie Thorisdottir stopped competing in the Individual division and decided to start a team. She invited some other CrossFit Games veterans to join her in Iceland and train together. This performance could set the pace for the remainder of their 2022 season. The team consists of Annie Thorisdottir, Lauren Fisher, Khan Porter, and Tola Morakinyo.

On the other hand, CrossFit Hendersonville is not quite at the level of the other team. However, they are a huge CrossFit community with over 300 members. At the 22.3 CrossFit Open Workout, Alexis Morgan, Zac Morgan, Lindsey McDuffie, and Logan Martin will get the chance to represent them. They will attempt to beat their opponents and shock the CrossFit community.

The Results:

Team Reykjavik gave a 4 and a half minute head start to ther opponents to make the duel more interesting. The time cap for them was 22:03 minutes.

  • Reykjavik: 16:36 minutes
  • Hendersonville: 851 reps

All three of the Open Workouts have been extremely hard, but it revealed the impressive fitness levels some athletes possess. This is just the first step towards the ultimate goal, which is the 2022 CrossFit Games.

2022 CrossFit Games Semifinals and Finals

From Quarterfinals, only 300 athletes will move on to the Semifinals, which will take place across 6 continents from May 20th to June 12th, 2022. Only the best 40 athletes will then go through to the finals of the 2022 CrossFit Games. The finals are scheduled for August 3-7, in Madison, Wisconsin.

This year will be the first chance for the Five-time reigning Fittest Woman on Earth®, Tia-Clair Toomey, to become the first athlete with 6 CrossFit Games titles. After two workouts, Tia-Clair is currently sitting in 2nd place of the CrossFit Open.
