The 2026 CrossFit Games came to a close on July 26th in San Jose, California. Following nearly a week’s worth of action, the athletes took on the final day of the competition, which featured a total of three individual and four team workouts. Once that was done, the competition crowned the new Fittest Man, Woman, and Team on Earth.
James Sprague opened the final day of the 2026 CrossFit Games with an event win, crushing the rower and SkiErg. From that point onward, he held a very significant lead, which followed him until the very end. As a result, James became the first man in history to win two non-consecutive titles at the CrossFit Games.
Aimee Cringle had one of the best outings ever seen at the CrossFit Games, as she managed to fill Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr’s shoes and dominated her way to the title. Cringle secured the title mathematically even before the final event, which goes to show just how much better she was than the remaining 29 competitors.
Although CrossFit Mayhem held the overall lead throughout the majority of the 2026 CrossFit Games and came into the final day in the top spot, a massive shakeup occurred in the final three events. Specifically, Mayhem placed 12th on the ninth event of the competition, which left the door open for CrossFit Whip. As expected, Whip utilized the opportunity, overtaking Mayhem and becoming the Fittest Team on Earth.
