Day three of the 2026 CrossFit Games for both the individuals and teams took place on Saturday, July 25th, in San Jose, California. Similar to day two, individuals tackled another five-event schedule, while the teams faced three workouts. With only one day of competition remaining, every point carried massive weight for athletes chasing the podium.
James Sprague’s lead progressively depleted across day three, but he pulled it back in the final two events, where he secured a win and a second-place finish. That, combined with the performances of his rivals, allowed him to increase the lead going into the final day.
Day three was make or break for Aimee Cringle, as being the overall leader put her under tremendous pressure from every other athlete in the women’s division. However, Cringle delivered under the heat, holding off the field and extending her overall lead heading into the final day.
CrossFit Mayhem reaffirmed their status as the dominant force in the Teams competition on Day three. They never placed lower than third and that consistency allowed them to take the overall lead ahead of CrossFit Whip and others, bringing them one step closer to reclaiming the title.

The veteran, Patrick Vellner, put up a performance that served as a throwback to his golden years. With this being his final appearance at the CrossFit Games, Vellner left his all on the competition floor and soaked up the atmosphere as athletes cheered him on to an event win. His time came out to 10:31, with the highlight being his masterclass in triple-unders.
The battle for second place was a true rollercoaster. At first, it seemed that James Sprague would claim the spot. However, Justin Medeiros managed to take over the lead on the final set of the muscle-ups. That seemed to be the end of the duel, but Justin suddenly started having issues on the final set of triple-unders. Dallin Pepper capitalized on this mistake and ended up in second place. James Sprague also managed to overtake Medeiros to finish in third.

This truly felt iconic, showing that she definitely has the potential to become one of the greatest CrossFitters ever.

Women’s Results (Event 16)
Ellie Turner’s pacing on the Echo bike was critical to avoid redlining early, as she clearly knew exactly what she was capable of. She also demonstrated a clinic on the thrusters, utilizing efficient hip drive and maintaining form under heavy fatigue despite the fact that the barbell increased in weight. As a result, she was the only woman that finished the entire event in under six minutes, giving herself over four minutes to rest for Event 17.
Lucy Campbell missed the sub-six-minute mark by less than a second, but that did not bother her too much as she claimed a valuable second-place finish. Mirjam Von Rohr edged out the rest of the field to secure third place in 06:07.74.

Women’s Results (Event 17)
The main thing to consider in regard to event 17 is that it happened just minutes after the previous event. Lucy Campbell delivered a commanding performance, powering through the heavy yoke carries to take first place with a winning time of 03:16.21.

Day Three Recap for Teams
Team Event 6 — Pig Party
3 rounds for time of:
- 10 bar muscle-ups
- 10 GHD wall-ball shots
- 10 dumbbell front squats
- 1 Pig flip
Team event six was a unique combination of exercises, but one that proved to be the limiting factor was the GHD wall ball shots. It required immense core strength to perform the GHD sit-up but also precision to hit the target on the wall. Multiple athletes ended up missing, which caused a massive slowdown for their team. CrossFit Whip did not have that issue, with all of their members remaining composed. As a result, they finished the event half a minute before anyone else with a time of 08:50.
CrossFit Mayhem knew that they had to stick close to CrossFit Whip if they wanted to keep their overall lead. They ended up doing just that by finishing in second place with a time of 09:21. CrossFit Kia Maia rounded out the top three 16 seconds after CrossFit Mayhem.
- CrossFit Whip — 08:50.78
- CrossFit Mayhem — 09:21.41

Team Event 7 — (2021) Worm Hang Clean and Jerk
For time:
- 50 Worm hang clean and jerks
Note: The teams were given only a few minutes to rest between Event 6 and Event 7.
The main factor to consider about the seventh event for the Teams is that it had to be performed just minutes after a grueling event six. CrossFit Mayhem capitalized on this fact, as they made sure to conserve just enough energy for the Worm hang clean and jerks. So, any points they lost on the Pig Party, they managed to claim back in event seven with a winning time of 03:50.75.
Solidarity CrossFit also displayed impressive work capacity and coordination, as they maintained smooth transitions between each rep and reached the finish line in four minutes and nine seconds. This did not benefit the third-place finisher, CrossFit Whip, who ended up conceding 10 points to CrossFit Mayhem.
- CrossFit Mayhem — 03:50.75
- Solidarity CrossFit Basecamp — 04:09.09
- CrossFit Whip — 04:14.20

- Blueprint CrossFit Team AOD — 05:00.75
Team Event 8 — Presidential 400
For time:
- 4 x 400-meter relay (F/M/F/M)
The eighth event of the 2026 CrossFit Games for the Teams was a simple relay race. As such, it relied on the individual quality of team members as well as smooth transitions while giving the baton to the next athlete. It was a relatively tight race, but CrossFit Whip still achieved a pretty comfortable win. Their time came out to 04:03.75 and got them ten points closer to CrossFit Mayhem.
The second-place battle came down to a photo finish between CrossFit Oslo Kriger and CrossFit Mayhem. It was unclear who crossed the line first until the times were reviewed. Ultimately, it was revealed that Oslo Kriger beat Mayhem by just 0.02 seconds.
- CrossFit Whip — 04:03.75
- CrossFit Oslo Kriger — 04:05.97
- CrossFit Mayhem — 04:05.99
