Chris Aceto Believes ‘Phenomenal’ Ramon Queiroz Can Upset Chris Bumstead at 2024 Mr. Olympia: “He’s Better Now”

Aceto, who oversees Ramon Queiroz as a coach, believes he has the tools and potential to upset 'Cbum' next month at the 2024 Mr. Olympia.

Brazilian bodybuilding star Ramon Queiroz is ready to shock the world in a few weeks. Taking to YouTube on September 22, 2024, coach Chris Aceto laid out why he believes Queiroz could pull off the upset at the 2024 Mr. Olympia against Chris Bumstead.

In just over two weeks, the 2024 Mr. Olympia contest will celebrate its 60th anniversary in Las Vegas, Nevada from October 10-13. Among those competing is Chris Bumstead, a highly dominant titleholder whose mass, stature, and conditioning have led to five victories. What’s made ‘Cbum’s’ reign all the more impressive is the fact that he continues to succeed despite a slew of injuries holding him back.

Ramon Queiroz has fought tooth and nail with Bumstead for the last two years, securing second place behind the Canadian at the 2022 and 2023 Mr. Olympia events. The Brazilian star attempted to earn a second Arnold Classic title earlier in the season but fell to the massive improvements made by Dutch bodybuilder Wesley Vissers. Vissers hopes to use the victory over Queiroz to leapfrog everyone, but coach Chris Aceto hasn’t counted out the 29-year-old star known as ‘Dino.’

When asked point-blank if he thought Ramon Queiroz could defeat Chris Bumstead this year, Aceto replied with an emphatic ‘Yes.’

“Yes. Yes [he can beat Chris Bumstead]. Look at that back,” says Aceto. “A lot [he has a lot of weight to lose for Classic Physique weight cap]. Look at the shoulders, look at the quads, they are cross-striated up the Yin-Yang.”

Aceto reaffirmed Queiroz’s commitment to bringing a better physique, which became the Brazilian’s top focus following his shocking defeat to Vissers in Ohio.

“No [he’s doing consistent updates] because he wants to win,” he explains. “I don’t know. People come and they come to get more comfortable with who they are and what they want to do and what they want to accomplish and you know… all these people are posting, look at the pecs.”

“Look at that back again. The back is phenomenal,” said Aceto. “This back [update] was a week ago. He’s better now for sure and this is not the best lighting but that’s a good back.”

Queiroz has been training in Vegas and was seen around Flex Lewis‘ Dragon’s Lair Gym, where he’s taken advantage of the posing room.

“No, he’s training in Vegas, he’s not at the Dragon’s Lair. Yeah, but he’s training at other gyms, he’s training a little bit everywhere. Posing room he’s using at the Dragon’s Lair.”

In addition to Wesley Vissers and Chris Bumstead, Ramon Queiroz will face off against stiff talent if he hopes to leave Vegas as only the fourth man to ever hold Classic Physique Olympia gold. Most notably, he’ll have to get through the ironclad back definition of former two-time champion Breon Ansley as well as the ‘super aesthetics’ of Urs Kalecinski. Mike Sommerfeld is also looking to make a statement when the curtains rise in Las Vegas.

Could Queiroz pull off the improbable and defeat Chris Bumstead on the grand stage? Find out next month when the Mr. Olympia returns to Las Vegas, Nevada for an epic showdown!
