Hadi Choopan might be the most passionate Open Bodybuilder on the current roster, and that’s what makes him so dangerous. On July 17, 2025, he gave his fans and opponents a teaser of what they’ll see onstage, as shown in the jacked physique update he recently shared.
Setback. Triumph. Setback. Triumph — that’s been the story of Choopan’s career. The former 212-turned-Open menace has shown what immaculate symmetry and bone-dry condition can do against the best. In 2022, Choopan reached the pinnacle of his career, finally laying claim to his first Sandow trophy.
Runner-up Derek Lunsford exacted his revenge on Choopan at the 2023 Mr. Olympia, preventing the Iranian native from becoming a two-time champion. The setback left Choopan feeling unsatisfied, so he signed on at the 2024 Arnold Classic and beat Samson Dauda for gold. However, Choopan would once again settle for second place at the Olympia last year after “The Nigerian Lion” edged him out on the scorecards.
Unlike Dauda and Lunsford, Choopan opted to sit the 2025 Arnold Classic out. Some believe that could make him fresher than his top rivals when it’s time to clash. And based on his latest progress video, it’s clear his signature conditioning is still there.

Hadi Choopan Reveals Jacked Physique Update On Quest To Regain His Mr. Olympia Title in 13 Weeks
Below, you’ll find Hadi Choopan’s latest physique update, sharing that it came right after a leg workout.
“Today 😅 After leg workout😅” Hadi Choopan wrote.
Hadi Choopan faces down the barrel of a top-notch lineup heading into this year’s Olympia. Though he’s pushed through back-and-forth battles with Dauda and Lunsford often, there will be some returning blood to the stage that could cause problems. Namely, Nick Walker. Walker’s wildcard status heading into this year’s contest has to be considered.
Walker pushed Lunsford in a tie-breaking round at the 2025 Pittsburgh Pro. If he can match Lunsford on the scorecards, who literally just beat Dauda at the Arnold, it stands to reason that Walker could become Mr. Olympia — meaning Choopan has to bring the perfect balance of mass, conditioning, and fullness to nail down his second title.
Other threats exist, too, like fourth-place 2024 Mr. Olympia finisher Martin Fitzwater. His bubbly muscle volume and tight waist could make for a tough matchup when Choopan makes his way back to the stage. With a field of contenders all after the same trophy, Choopan is doing everything possible to bring the title back to Iran.
