Lauralie Chapados plans to sport a next-level back in her 2025 Olympia title defense. On August 27, she took back training tips from “The Godfather of Bodybuilding,” Charles Glass, ahead of her return.
Chapados has quickly become one of the most established talents in the Bikini category. She’s won the Arnold Classic three times consecutively, and in 2024, reached the pinnacle of her career. She finally brought the perfect balance of glute development and stage presence to secure the Bikini Olympia title.
To focus on health and longevity, Chapados opted not to compete at the 2025 Arnold Classic. In the meantime, she’s focused her efforts on clean nutrition. Between appetite control and ensuring she takes in high-protein, Chapados is leaving no stone unturned en route to her title defense.

Leaning Back Cable Rope Lat Pulldown
With her feet higher on the platform, Chapados leans back and pulls, opening up her lat fibers.
“When you contract in, and you let it out, lean back,” instructed Glass. “The whole prep, I like doing the whole prep instead of trying to cram everything in at the last tail-end, so if you can do it beforehand, it’s better for you and you’ll be ready that much faster.”
Seated Cable Rows
For seated cable rows, Charles Glass told Chapados to keep her shoulders back, which sets the foundation for better contractions.
“That’s a good cue, the shoulders back,” said Chapados.
“Yeah, when the shoulders go back, the contraction starts. Then, it’s just following through.”
Behind Neck Lat Pulldown
Glass explained the thought process behind his results-driven training approach.
“You can always get results if you make sure you’re constantly paying attention to what they are doing, the position of the body and also following through on every single rep. You get good results, but most people don’t, they are too busy doing other things.”
Chest Supported Low Row Machine
During sets of the low row machine, Chapados touched on how she dials in her mind-muscle connection for quality reps.
“You definitely have to have the mind-muscle connection, or just the vision of what you’re actually doing. The more I do it with you, the more I am able to perfect it.”
“That’s what you’re trying to create right there, making sure it goes down into the lats,” added Glass.
Single-arm Hammer Strength Row Machine
Chapados modified her stance on the hammer row machine, approaching the machine at an angle to maximize tension.
“Squeeze the back, and don’t let go so fast,” said Glass.
“I call it the Charles effect. You go and do little adjustments and it changes everything,” Chapados shared.
Unlike in 2024, the Bikini lineup slated for this year’s Olympia is deeper. Chapados will again have to get through former three-time Bikini Olympia Ashley Kaltwasser, along with titleholders Maureen Blanquisco and Jennifer Dorie.
Chapados is ensuring her back is a standout body part onstage. Don’t miss the 2025 Mr. Olympia, set for October 9-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
