Powerlifter Alexis Jones Scores 6 American Records At 2022 USAPL Collegiate Nationals

The 2022 USAPL Collegiate Nationals saw powerlifter Alexis Jones have the best performance of her career. The competition took place from March 27-30, in Westin Lombard, Illinois. She won the raw 100+ kg women’s division and claimed a plethora of American Records in the Collegiate and Junior age divisions.

Alexis Jones absolutely dominated the competition, as she built up a 102 kg (220 lbs) total difference between her and the second-place finisher. Her deadlift and total are also currently the raw 100+ kg All-Time Third-Heaviest in the 23 & Under age division. 

Alexis Jones’ Full Performance 

Alexis weighed in at 137.4 kg (302.9 lbs) for this competition, and apart from setting new American Records, she also managed to beat all of her raw PRs. All 9 of her attempts were successful, and she didn’t get any red lights, which just proves how strong Alexis Jones is to be able to move this kind of weight with perfect technique.

Bench Press 

  • 147.5 kg (325.1 lbs)

Deadlift 

  • 220 kg (485 lbs)
  • 232.5 kg (512.5 lbs)
  • 245 kg (540.1 lbs) American Collegiate & Junior Record 

*Only April Mathis (262.5 kg / 578.7 lbs)and Bradina Anae (260 kg / 573.2 lbs)have ever deadlifted heavier in the 100+ kg, 23 & Under age division.

Total – 647 kg (1426.4 lbs) American Collegiate & Junior Record 

*Only April Mathis (727.5 kg / 1603.8 lbs) and Bradina Anae (680 kg / 1499 lbs)have ever totaled more at a sanctioned powerlifting competition in the 100+ kg, 23 & Under age division.

Alexis Jones is only 21-years-old, but has been in the sport of powerlifting for quite some time now. Her first competition was the 2018 CPF Iron Annihilation, and she started her career with a second-place finish. Since then, Alexis has taken part in 9 more competitions, and came out victorious in 7 of them. She is a 2x Florida State Champion, and a 2x USAPL Collegiate Champion. Apart from that, Alexis Jones placed third in the 2022 USAPL Arnold A7 Pro Bench Bash, and the 2021 USAPL Raw Nationals. 

Alexis Jones is definitely the future of American powerlifting, and is considered one of the greatest rising stars in the sport. The 2022 USAPL Collegiate Nationals was a massive competition for her, and she excelled in every lift. Alexis was also a part of the Midland University Powerlifting, and they won the team’s division of the same 2022 Collegiate Nationals.
