Arnold Schwarzenegger Discusses Whether Or Not Green Tea Causes Weight Loss

Schwarzenegger opened up on new research suggesting that regularly consuming green tea can boost weight loss and reduce waist sizes.

Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s take on eating healthy and working out is simple, just do it. When it comes to losing weight, Schwarzenegger has proven there is no quick-fix time and time again. In a recent Arnold’s Pump Club newsletter, Schwarzenegger examined whether or not green tea can help with weight loss.

As a seven-time Mr. Olympia champion, Arnold Schwarzenegger has extensive experience relating to health and fitness. Regarding weight loss, Schwarzenegger knows all the tricks to shed unwanted pounds, including replacing one meal a day with a protein shake and performing high-intensity interval training (HIIT).

With so many diet fads and misconceptions on the market, Arnold Schwarzenegger has made it his mission to bring only the facts to his fans, backed by scientific research to ensure they can achieve optimal results.

“Good From Far, But Far From Good
Editor’s note: Some studies sound impressive on paper, but they leave much to be desired once you dig in. These short blurbs will make sure you’re not tricked by the headlines.”

While green tea does reduce waist size in overweight subjects, the results were minimal over an extended period of time. 

“Good from far: New research suggests that green tea supercharges fat loss.”

“But, far from good: Researchers looked at 11 randomized controlled trials to determine the relationship between green tea and weight loss. When overweight participants drank green tea, they saw a reduction in weight circumference and blood lipids. Sounds great, right?”

Ultimately, even 16 weeks of regular green tea consumption saw a reduced waist size by only an average of 1.4 centimeters. 

“Unfortunately, drinking green tea only reduced waist size by an average of 1.4 centimeters, and that was during studies lasting 6 to 16 weeks. In other words, the change wasn’t anything you would notice on your body” Arnold Schwarzenegger said. 

Schwarzenegger doesn’t discourage individuals from drinking green tea as he recommends it over high-sugar beverages. However, he does emphasize that it shouldn’t be used as a weight loss method.  

“We love green tea and think it’s a fantastic beverage with many potential health benefits. We recommend it — especially if it replaces a sugar-loaded beverage. But if you’re looking for it to help burn fat and lose weight, you’re unlikely to see much difference.”

One thing that many individuals overlook when trying to lose weight is sleep. Arnold Schwarzenegger has emphasized the significance of getting adequate rest on several occasions. Not only did he provide research proving that people who sleep more weigh less, but he also revealed that lack of sleep is the “silent killer of muscle.” 

Even though ‘The Austrian Oak’ endorses green tea as a wonderful drink that boasts many health benefits, he emphasizes that burning fat and losing weight aren’t among its most appealing attributes.
