Bill Richardson
Bill Richardson won the tall class at the Mr Universe three years running, from 1978 to 1980, and the European Championships six times across three decades. He was British and competed for twenty years.
Known for
Three consecutive Mr Universe class titles from 1978 to 1980, with the European Championships tall class in each of the same years. He had won the World Championships tall class in 1977 and the Mr Britain in 1978.
He then moved to the professional class and kept winning: the European Championships professional title in 1981 and again in 1986, and the World Championships professional title in 1982.
Early career
His recorded career opens in 1971 and the first podiums come in 1973 with second at Mr Europe and third at the Mr Universe. It took six years from there to the first title.
Fifty-one contests are recorded across twenty years, which is one of the longer careers of the era in our database.
