A lot is riding on Brandon Curry’s next bodybuilding performance. On February 19, 2025, he discussed his keys to victory at the 2025 Arnold Classic with Chris Cormier. He also revealed that if he makes the top five at the Arnold, he’ll ‘for sure’ compete at the Masters Olympia in August.
Brandon Curry hasn’t just reached the top of the mountain in the Men’s Open but has stayed there for years. In 2019, he reached the pinnacle of his career when he won the Mr. Olympia title. He’s also collected two Arnold Classic trophies, once in 2019 and another in 2022.
In his last Olympia appearance, Curry missed the mark, securing ninth place mostly due to a lack of fullness and conditioning. He plans to shore up these issues in Columbus when he makes his way back to the Arnold Classic. And should he find success on stage, he will pursue his future plans for the bodybuilding season.

In a recent YouTube video, Cormier underlined that Brandon Curry has a shot at winning the 2025 Arnold Classic.

“I can say yes. Also, the glutes are in good shape, he’s just going to have to hold on, just it gets a little tricky as you get older but if him and his coach can come up with a strategy to keep the fullness as you’re alleviating enough water in order to be able to stand there and stay strong in all the poses outside of the back double biceps,” explains Chris Cormier.
“That’s going to be the key,” he adds.
Curry said his options for the season are open, adding that his body hasn’t been stressed this prep since he didn’t have to train in Kuwait at Oxygen Gym.
“My options for the year are definitely open. Right now, it’s been about collecting data. This is a new experience, collecting data from this next outing. The body hasn’t been stressed this prep.
A lot of things that I probably used to incorporate was probably too stressful on the body to begin with. So my body is not really stressed at this point and I’m having a very very good what I call a healthy prep.”
He revealed that if he claims a top-five position at the Arnold, he will set his sights on the 2025 Masters Olympia, which is set to return from August 9-10 in Tokyo, Japan.
“One of the things I did consider, if I get top five here at the Arnold I was talking to Chris about maybe doing the Masters Olympia for sure. That’s right up there before the Olympia, that’s a good show to set that off.”
“If we really really nail it and we do things correctly, there may not be too many questions. We may want to go ahead and make some extra money in the process or we just — I don’t know, we’ll see. It’s one of those things I can’t call it until I walk through it fully.”
Although he wants to compete at the Masters Olympia later this year, first Curry must produce under the stage lights at the 2025 Arnold Classic. He’ll face a skilled lineup of contenders at this event, including reigning Mr. Olympia Samson Dauda, Derek Lunsford, James Hollingshead, Akim Williams, and other notable threats.
Having claimed a Sandow trophy back in 2019, counting out Curry at the Arnold Classic could be a mistake. Don’t miss his performance from February 27 to March 1; Fitness Volt will have live coverage of the event.
