24-year-old CrossFit competitor Brooke Wells is a well-known name by now. She has competed 5 times at the CrossFit Games with her best finish in 2016 of which she placed 6th as an individual.

But besides her evident athletic prowess, Wells has been known to share some very valuable advice that has surely inspired many aspiring athletes and fans alike. Not to mention, she shares great training tips and what she does in between to ensure she remains level-headed and committed to her craft.

This is especially important during times of unrest such as what’s currently going on in the world right now.

Inspiration For The Current Health Situation

Good morning & Happy Monday, friends!” she wrote on Instagram. This week is weird, no doubt about it. It may not feel like a Monday today if you’ve had to make some drastic changes to your schedules. But I was thinking the other day, how many times do people wish they could just put life on pause?

To have more times to themselves, to do more things around the house, to hang out with their children, pick up a new mindless hobby. As unfortunate of a situation as this is, find the GOOD. Make the best of your situation. Do things you normally wouldn’t have time to do. Show people love & care, help those who need it. Smile & say “thank you” to the people having to work extra hard at hospitals, grocery stores, etc. Call your grandparents/parents & see if there’s anything you can do to help.

Stay healthy & stay positive ♥️ (and maybe stay home too. & stay washing your hands 🙃)

Here’s a “pump sesh” that Wells’ did at Wadapalooza this year. She recommended anyone give it a try if you want to blast your arms!

3 Rounds For Time:

2/1 Legless Rope Climb
15 Dumbbell Bench Press (70/50s)
9 Dumbbell Thrusters

Sometimes things don’t go the way you want… & that’s when you build character & grit. The fighter is coming out 😠👊🏼💥

2,000 lunge challenge

Wells put out a challenge on her social media back in April…

  • 2,000 lunges per leg with 10 days to complete all repetitions. She recommended doing 200 lunges per leg every day. Try out this challenge if you think you can make it through.

Rain or sunshine. 💦☀️ At home or at the gym. 🏡🏋🏻‍♀️ When you’re motivated or when you’re in a funk. 😈🥴 Get moving & give your best, no matter the circumstance. 👊🏼💥”

Wells is a big proponent of the effectiveness and important of mobility work for becoming a better athlete…

INTENSITY in your workouts starts with GOOD MOBILITY. How?? 👇🏼

🔑 DISTANCE : move more comfortably in space by increasing range of motion

🔑 FORCE : optimize the ability to transfer strength with better levers and positions

🔑 SPEED : Faster execution thanks to the use of energy that is no longer wasted to correct a bad line of action

What makes her a beast is that she’s not afraid to do some grunt work to improve her physical fitness.

3 Rounds NOT For Time:

15 Deadlifts (155/105#)
12 Hang Power Cleans
9 Front Squats
6 Jerks
3 Squat Clean Thrusters

From @benbergeron @comptrain.co of course 🏋🏻‍♀️ Not for time because focusing on making it pretty & smooth 👌🏼 I decided to do the rounds quickly and rest a little in between rounds. You do what ya want with it 😛😘

Did you go home today with a smile on your face, knowing you gave it everything you had?

Hopefully, though, things will turn around for the better with the many athletes stepping forward and not “sitting idle” in the meantime.

Wells still competed in the Rogue Invitational though, of which athletes had to record their performances remotely which was a lot different than competing at a live event with other athletes. She described it as being a fun alternative to in-person competition despite the comparatively silent atmosphere.

Brooke Wells has accomplished a lot at such a young age and is just getting started. Her hard work, dedication, and refusing to give up even when it gets hard, has inspired fans around the world.

We look forward to seeing what’s next for her and expect big things to come especially with two key role models in Katrin Davidsdottir (two-time World’s Fittest) and Tia-Claire Toomey (three-time World’s Fittest). And how amazing that she gets to represent the brand NOBULL with them too!
