Bodybuilder Dorian Yates hasn’t let go of his fitness despite retiring from the sport many moons ago. In a recent Instagram post, Yates showed off his signature jacked back and ripped physique at 62, highlighting his impressive longevity.
It didn’t take long for Dorian Yates to push into the upper echelon of the IFBB Pro League Men’s Open division. In the 1990s, he tested himself against a legendary crop of contenders that included aesthetic icons Flex Wheeler, Shawn Ray, and Kevin Levrone — denying each of these men a chance at holding the sport’s most prestigious title.
Aside from his sterling bodybuilding record that boasts six Mr. Olympia titles, Dorian Yates was made famous for his ‘Blood and Guts’ workouts, where he practiced high-intensity interval training to achieve his impeccable build. He routinely went to failure and was known for pushing his physical limits, especially when he was preparing for Mr. Olympia competitions.
Nowadays, Yates has let his shoulders drop, enjoying retirement. He recently discussed his 45-minute upper and lower body training routine, which keeps his physique in top shape. Clearly, his efforts have paid off given the physique he’s sporting at the beach in his latest update.

I love going out into the sea almost everyday if I can, always feel refreshed and Jackie loves it too.
Just spending time outdoors is a must I believe for everyone, especially grounding which allows you to connect yourself to the earth and receive negative ions that have an antioxidant effect on the body. Here’s just a few benefits of grounding:
- 😴 Helps regulate sleep patterns
- 💪 Boosts immune system
- 💆 Reduces stress
- 👌 Reduces inflammation
- 🧠 Plus loads more, especially for mental wellness
Have a great weekend all🙏” Dorian Yates shared.
Considering Dorian Yates dealt with multiple injuries throughout his illustrious Olympia reign, his health since stepping away from the stage is a testament to his training, recovery, and dieting practices. And he’s not the only bodybuilding star to draw praise for his timeless physique.
