Hadi Choopan has cleared his biggest hurdle ahead of the 2025 Mr. Olympia. Having finally entered the US, Choopan joined Hany Rambod for an FST-7 back workout on Sept. 22, just three weeks before hitting the stage.

In 2022, Choopan reached the pinnacle of his career. He defeated a stacked lineup including Samson Dauda, Nick Walker, and Derek Lunsford to secure his lone Sandow trophy. For the past two years, he’s attempted to regain the title but has come up short twice — once against Lunsford, and then in 2024, he trailed behind Dauda by three points on the scorecards

Choopan hasn’t competed since taking second place, meaning he’s had the entire season to craft an even better package. Entering the US is no longer a concern, so now he can devote his full attention to a perfect peak for the Mr. Olympia.

Rambod touched on the challenges Choopan faced en route to getting his visa. He revealed that “The Persian Wolf” waited over a month in Dubai with just a hope that it would get approved, and never stopped training.

“For those of you who don’t know, the process is extremely complicated and difficult to get a visa every year for Hadi because it all starts back from scratch. Another thing you have to remember: this year, there’s been a lot of things going on in the Middle East that are basically creating a lot more adversity when it comes to being able to get the visa.

Being there for over a month in Dubai waiting to get his visa has been something that has been quite, quite challenging. Being able to train and being able to do all the things he needs to do, while not knowing if he’s going to be able to come to America when he’s already been here like six or seven times. It’s been very difficult this year,”  explained Hany Rambod.

Even though Choopan’s kept a low profile heading into Olympia, bodybuilding veterans still favor his chances. Recently, former eight-time Olympia champ Lee Haney discussed the Open lineup this year and revealed that Choopan was his favorite to win. Chris Aceto has also weighed in on Choopan’s shot at gold. He believes his conditioning could be the difference-maker onstage.

Choopan will have the next few weeks to put the final touches on his physique. The 2025 Mr. Olympia will take over Las Vegas, Nevada, from Oct. 9-12, where Dan Solomon has promised more prize money than ever before
