Bodybuilder Hunter Labrada is attacking preparations like never before as he attempts to jump placings at the annual Mr. Olympia competition. In a recent YouTube video shared on October 1, 2024, Labrada showcased the contest prep diet he’s using to fuel his performance on the sport’s biggest stage from October 10-13 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Labrada has followed in the footsteps of his father, bodybuilding icon Lee Labrada. He’s already placed as high as fourth on the Mr. Olympia stage, however, he has struggled since to improve that standing. He took seventh on the prestigious stage in 2022 before improving with a sixth-place finish at the 2023 Mr. Olympia.
Labrada capitalized on the progress he’s made as of late. He decided to hold out and wait most of the season before attempting to qualify for this year’s Super Bowl of Bodybuilding. While many thought the gamble could backfire, it didn’t. He won gold at the 2024 Promuscle Italy Pro in September, earning his right to stand against the best in the world.
After correcting gut health issues and refining his physique, most notably his midsection, Labrada is on track for a powerful showing next weekend. With the show rapidly approaching, he walked through what he was consuming before the big day.

2024 Mr. Olympia: Hunter Labrada Shares What His Contest Prep Diet Is Comprised Of
Check out his full day of eating below:
Meal 1
- 170 grams Chicken
- 50 grams Oats
- Salt
- Cinnamon
- Sweet N Glow
- 1 Whole Fried Egg
- 100 grams Frozen blueberries
Currently, this is Labrada’s favorite meal. Although oats haven’t always been his number one carb choice, he says their satiety index has helped him immensely throughout prep.
“Right now, if I had to say what my favorite meal is, I would definitely say this one. It’s sweet from the blueberries and the oats and the cinnamon, it all goes really well together.
Yeah, so really been enjoying this meal. The oats I haven’t been a big oat guy for a long time but we put them back in like two or three days ago. I really enjoy the satiety that they have been giving me.”
Meal 2 (Pre-Workout)
- 250 grams of Mahi Mahi (air fried)
- 50 grams Oats
- 8 grams Ghee butter
- Salt
- Sweet N Glow
- 1 Cup of coffee
For his pre-workout meal, Labrada enjoyed mahi mahi with oats, which he calls ‘fish mush,’ yum!
“This will be ready to eat,” says Labrada. “All that’s left to do is turn it into fish mush.”
Meal 3 (Post-Workout)
- 150 grams of oats
- 60 grams of Protein Isolate
- Sweet N Glow
- Salt
- Cinnamon
- 1 Banana
After he’s done working out, Labrada consumes a protein-rich bowl of oats with a banana.
“That’s it. I really enjoy doing one scoop of each of the Hydros so one scoop of vanilla one scoop of chocolate, it really gives it a I don’t know, like a creamy ice-creamy flavor.
I do one scoop of each and then I’ll use that Sweet and Glow that you saw me use. Salt and then cinnamon, nice and simple, and oh, I’m super excited about this: I get a banana. It’s a good day I get a banana.”
Meal 4
- 100 grams Oats
- 250 grams Mahi Mahi
- 8 grams Ghee Butter
In addition to eating fish again, Labrada used Ghee butter for healthy fats.
“Gonna get this all made up and then I will show y’all what it looks like done,” shares Labrada. “Done and dusted.”
Meal 5
- 170 grams Chicken
- 1 Whole Egg
- 250 grams Rice
For his fifth meal, Labrada turned to his only rice-based dish of the day.
“Like I said, meal five I’m going to eat this and I’m probably going to sleep and then get up and smack the last one. Whenever I get up to pee because I’m peeing eight times a night right now. Got to love prep. Going to get this in me and hit the sack.”
Meal 6
- 5 grams Ghee Butter
- Salt
- Cinnamon
- 250 grams Mahi Mahi
- 100 grams Oats
He woke up in the middle of the night to consume his final meal.
“I’m going to eat this and go to sleep.”
