Regardless of the body part, Jay Cutler has an effective solution for how to grow it. In a recent Instagram reel, the former four-time Mr. Olympia explained how to build a massive back with incline rows, which has been been a go-to in his routine.

You can’t break down the history of bodybuilding without mentioning the name Jay Cutler. During the 2000s, he elevated the sport to unforeseen levels thanks to his cutthroat rivalry with former eight-time Mr. Olympia champion Ronnie Coleman. To catch up with ‘The King,’ Cutler mimicked some of his training tendencies and clearly, it paid off.

Aside from becoming the one and only man to dethrone Coleman, Cutler defined his legacy by winning back his Mr. Olympia title in 2009 after losing it to Dexter Jackson the year prior. While he retired from the sport in 2013, Cutler still provides fans with easy-to-apply workout advice and technique tips.

Jay Cutler recommends his followers begin incorporating incline rows into their back workout. This movement focuses on the lats and allows for a good stretch.

Cutler shares a quick tip by suggesting j-bells if available but regular dumbbells can be used as well.

“If your gym has j-bells, I highly recommend giving them a shot; otherwise, this can be done with any standard dumbbell as well! Let’s get wide! “

He breaks down the exercise while pointing out why the j-bells are ideal. With the j-bells, there is no concern of hitting anything while going up and down.

“We’re really going to focus on that whole lat region. So this is the back, and it ties down to that V. This is where the j-bells are going to come in handy. So, we talked about the balance, and we talked about the dumbbells maybe hitting something. With these, your hands go through the middle, allowing you to have a straight plane. Ideally, it’s going to be like a piston,” shares Jay Cutler.

This was far from Cutler’s first piece of workout advice. The credentialed Open Pro never misses an opportunity to inform the masses. The last time we heard from him, he broke down his best tip for building a better chest using flat cable flyes.

“When performing this exercise, you want to come up and not actually touch the cable handles together but keep that tension and then come back down.”

There’s no limit to what Jay Cutler offers his fanbase in retirement. In addition to imparting wisdom to others, Cutler remains busy as he sets his sights on ‘Fit-for-51’ physique transformation on the horizon.
