Reigning two-time Ms. Bikini Olympia champion Jennifer Dorie has chosen not to defend her title next month for the show’s 60th anniversary. Dorie confirmed she won’t compete this year in a post published to Instagram on September 3, 2024; she explained that she is taking time off to focus on other endeavors outside of bodybuilding.

“I won’t be competing this year at the @mrolympiallc , I am taking the year off to focus on pouring into and growing some other areas of my life off the stage; some projects, businesses and other things I can’t wait to share with you all soon!”

Jennifer Dorie won the Ms. Bikini Olympia title in 2021 and 2023, defeating a field of stars in the category such as former three-time champion Ashley Kaltwasser, ex-titleholder Maureen Blansquisco, and three-time Arnold Classic winner Lauralie Chapados. With her name crossed off the lineup, a new Bikini Olympia will emerge in October.

Her reasons for the withdrawal are outside obligations, which she says she plans to share with fans soon. Although some fans have suggested that she is perhaps taking the year off to have a baby or focus on her health, she has yet to comment on that in one way or another.

Jennifer Dorie Will Not Defend Bikini Title at 2024 Mr. Olympia: “I Am Taking the Year Off”

As the first Canadian to win the Ms. Bikini Olympia title, the lineup has certainly lost some of its depth heading into the blockbuster weekend.

Find the rest of her official statement below:

“Hiii guys 🫶 I wanted to hop on here and give you all an update/official announcement/answer the question a lot of you have been asking me, whether or not I’ll be competing at the @mrolympiallc this year

“I can’t wait to get to experience the Olympia and all that it has to offer this year from a completely different perspective than what I am used to; as a fan of the sport, a spectator, and on the other side of the stage to be part of the cheers from the crowd with you guys!”

Dorie still plans to attend the event as a non-competitor and will cheer on her fellow athletes from the sidelines.

“I am sooo excited to be there to cheer on all of the athletes (esp my bikini sisters!!) and get to witness history with this year being the 60th anniversary of the @mrolympiallc in Las Vegas ⭕️🏆
