Fitness influencer Joey Swoll is dealing with another intense health scare. In an October 6 Instagram post, he revealed that he’s doing better after being rushed to the hospital for his heart.
Over the years, Swoll has become a beloved member of the fitness and bodybuilding community. His gym positivity movement exploded on social media. He offers a helping hand to those without a voice. Swoll’s Instagram boasts over 5.5 million followers and has made it his mission to make gyms a more welcoming place for all walks of life.
In early 2023, Swoll was hospitalized and underwent a life-saving surgery for genetic irregularities with his heart. Overall, it was a successful operation, with Swoll saying, “I ended up in surgery for a few hours to fix the issue and was back on my feet that night. I feel great, and my heart is strong as ever.” Now addressing his latest scare, Swoll touched on what he’s been going through.
Joey Swoll Makes Statement After Hospitalization for Heart: “Doing Better”
In the Instagram post, Swoll revealed that he was rushed to the hospital over the weekend. He said it’s been a challenging time, but he’s on the mend.
“I was rushed to the hospital Saturday morning for my heart. It’s been a rough few days, I’m still here, but doing better. Please send love and prayers. 🙏🏼❤️,” Joey Swoll shared via Instagram.

Bodybuilders reacted to the news in the comment section:

Concerns about the safety of bodybuilding continue to circulate on social media. Former seven-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger went so far as to say that bodybuilding is the most dangerous sport in the world and that it can kill people.
“In bodybuilding you’ve had 14 guys over the last ten years. So it just shows you how dangerous it is to take some of those medications and things that those guys take.”
Swoll is healing up, and hopefully he updates fans on his health again soon. Our team at Fitness Volt wishes him a speedy and full recovery!
