It’s going to be a kill-or-be-killed battle at the 2024 Mr. Olympia in the 212 category. In recent Instagram posts shared from September 30 to October 1, Keone Pearson and Shaun Clarida showed off shredded physique updates with only nine days to go before they take to the stage.

Shaun Clarida is a two-time Olympia 212 champion, having earned the prestigious title in 2020 and 2022. He holds victories over mainstays of the IFBB Pro League, including the reigning two-division Mr. Olympia titleholder Derek Lunsford as well as former 212 Olympia and Masters Olympia champion Kamal Elgargni. All signs pointed to utter domination at the 2023 Mr. Olympia contest until fans witnessed the aesthetic shape of Keone Pearson

Pearson’s tapered waist, leg separation, and full chest instantly catapulted him into the limelight atop the sport’s most celebrated stage. Although he endured a battle with Clarida, he walked away with his hand raised, perhaps marking the beginning of an illustrious and long-standing reign. However, with Clarida out for redemption, there’s no counting him out considering his history of coming back successful after taking a loss on the chin.

They both possess notable strengths, as Clarida’s hard muscle density and conditioning have been near-impossible to compete with. Now, with glory, a hefty cash prize, and the sport’s ultimate title on the line, these two juggernauts are set for a showdown of epic proportions next weekend when Mr. Olympia kicks off for its 60th-anniversary event from October 10-13 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bodybuilding veterans have been honest about how they see the 212 Olympia shaking out. Although Clarida has a history of winning when pressure is at its highest, ‘The Real Deal’ Chris Cormier believes the feathered quads of Keone Pearson will be enough to seal the deal when the curtains rise in Sin City next weekend.

This could end up being the closest contest of any taking place during the Mr. Olympia Weekend. Don’t miss full coverage of prejudging and finals next weekend when the show celebrates its 60th anniversary!
