When it comes to squatting heavy, Kevin Oak is about as good as they come. He showed his skills again recently, with an intense outdoor training session.
Oak has proven time and again to be one of the best powerlifters in the world today. Every time he steps foot in the weight room, he goes above and beyond, looking better at every turn. This has led him to multiple powerlifting championships, and even some world records as well.
Recently, Kevin Oak was seen getting some work in towards potentially extending his world record squat and total lifts. Although this time he is not doing the traditional squats you would see at a powerlifting meet. Instead, he took to Instagram to show off his Zercher Squat skills, by blowing through five reps of 505lbs.
“505 lbs x 5 (230 kg) on low bar front squats. I forgot how much these hurt your forearms yet they’re so satisfying.”

Like most other athletes, Oak is forced to train at home right now, during this global health crisis. Nevertheless, he still manages to push himself, and find ways to still get good training in. Even with all of that, he still looked incredible doing the front squats.
Squats have not been the only thing that Kevin has been working on, while at home. Just a few weeks earlier he showed himself doing some floor press work as well, using what appears to be the same weight set as he uses for squats. Here he is, going for eight reps of a hefty 405lb press:
Kevin Oak had a somewhat lackluster start to his 2020, coming in eighth place at the Hybrid Showdown II, in February. He was looking to get back on track before things started getting complicated in the world. Hopefully, when things return to some level of normalcy, we will see him back in action for another epic performance in competition.
