Kyle Kirvay is recognized as a true beast in the fitness community and is best known for being an IFBB Pro in bodybuilding. However, he is also insanely gifted in the strength aspect. One of his greatest exercises is the deadlift, as seen by his recent appearance at the ‘Lift: NYC’ event. There, Kirvay managed to lock out a massive 900-pound (408.2-kilogram) Raw Deadlift Personal Record.

Although bodybuilders have incredible physiques, that does not often transition well to their strength. However, Kyle Kirvay is one of the rare few who have the ability to match even the greatest powerlifters in the world. Some other notable bodybuilders who had the same ability were Ronnie Coleman, Stan Efferding, Johnnie Jackson, Franco Columbu, and others.

What separates Kyle Kirvay from the rest of the strength freaks in bodybuilding is that he performed his 900-pound (408.2-kilogram) deadlift completely raw. So, he did not use anything, including a lifting belt and lifting straps. Moreover, he used a conventional stance, mixed grip, and calibrated plates. So, his personal record is as legit as it gets.

Although there is no official tracking of the heaviest deadlifts ever performed by IFBB professionals, Kyle Kirvay’s is easily one of the heaviest ones. In fact, it seems that only Joe Mackey has locked out more weight, deadlifting 910 pounds (412.7 kilograms) in early 2023. So Kyle is quite close to Mackey and could definitely outperform him in the future.

Kyle Kirvay earned his IFBB Pro card by winning the 2018 NPC Universe Championships in both Men’s Open and Classic Physique divisions. He has since competed in the 2020 IFBB Chicago Pro, where he finished in 16th place.

However, Kyle Kirvay also decided to try powerlifting in 2022, taking part in the USPA Battle at Atilis. He immediately impressed everyone, setting multiple State Records. Unfortunately, Kirvay suffered a severe ankle injury in 2023, which put him on the sidelines for a while. Luckily, despite facing adversity, Kyle managed to get back to his best and took part in another powerlifting competition in early 2024. This turned out even better than the first time, as Kyle set new PRs and put up one of the heaviest totals in the 140-kilogram weight class.

Kyle Kirvay’s Powerlifting Competition PRs

*Kyle Kirvay set all of his competition PRs at the 2024 USPA Battle at Atilis Gym III.

  • Squat: 400 kilograms (881.8 pounds)
  • Bench Press: 277.5 kilograms (611.8 pounds)
  • Deadlift: 390 kilograms (859.8 pounds)
  • Total: 1,067.5 kilograms (2,353.4 pounds)

It seems that Kyle Kirvay has turned to powerlifting, and, if so, his journey is quite successful already. Moreover, he clearly has the potential to become one of the greatest in the 140-kilogram weight class, as he is already not too far from the All-Time World Record. Kyle’s determination has already led him to success in bodybuilding and is now doing the same in powerlifting as well.
