Things have been seemingly moving in a super positive direction for Lya Bavoil. She showed this in a big way recently, with an intense session in the gym.

For years, Bavoil has been providing inspiration and jaw-dropping performances both in and out of competition. She has been able to capture some world records along her journey, cementing herself as arguably the best 63kg lifter in the world. Not to mention the fact that she seems to be still improving at 27 years old, with the best years of her competing still ahead of her.

This pension for improvement was on full display recently, with a training session that Lya Bavoil shared to Instagram. The pair of videos posted see the French lifter bench pressing 198lb for 6 reps, which is impressive in its own right. However what got our attention was the 8 reps she did of a 353lb squat, really putting her cardio to the test.

“🔥 8 x 160 kg / 353 lbs
🔥 6 x 90 kg / 198 lbs
.
@the_nistouille counting and making sure i hit all my reps 🤣
Deload week before starting a new block ! 6 weeks out before french nationals 🤩”

As she explained in the post, Lya was deloading to prepare for amping things up in preparation for the French National Championships. This capped off a solid block of training that even saw her putting up a gym total of 1,196lb recently. That total was comprised of a 463lb squat, 248lb bench, and 485lb deadlift, and she looked unstoppable at every turn.

At this point, Lya Bavoil is six weeks out from competition, and already looks like she is fired up and ready to take the platform. This will be her second meet of the year, after the global pandemic briefly shut down the competition schedule of the sport. However she appears like she is more than ready to pick things up where she left off, and perhaps add some more accolades to her already impeccable resume.
