Strongwoman competitor Melissa Peacock managed to pull a colossal deadlift of 250 kg (550 lbs) with only using lifting straps, and shared it on her Instagram account. Melissa did not use a lifting belt or knee sleeves, and even did the lift in her socks. She performed the lift with a conventional stance.

Melissa pointed out that her preparation for the Arnold Strongwoman Classic will begin next week, and that this is her last week of fun before that.

Melissa Peacock’s Achievements

Melissa Peacock has had some great success in the sport, as she has won the 2020 Arnold Strongwoman Classic (ASC) in the U82 kg category and came third in the inaugural strongwoman event of the 2021 World’s Ultimate Strongman (WUS) contest. Furthermore, Melissa was temporarily a world record holder in the axle clean and jerk, with a lift of 124.7 kg (275 lbs), which she set at the 2021 Clash on the Coast event. The record has been broken, and is now claimed by Annabelle Chapman who managed to lift 131.7 kg (290.3 lbs), at the Tamworth’s Strongest Man contest back in May.

Judging by her Instagram posts, Melissa might take a shot at reclaiming the record, as she has published some heavy split jerks. In the most recent one, we can see her lifting 118 kg (260 lbs) for two repetitions.

Melissa Peacock is also very good in the log lift event, and holds the Canadian Record of 113 kg (250 lbs), which she also set at the 2021 Clash on the Coast competition. In addition, she managed to grab 3rd place in the log lift event of the 2021 WUS.

Melissa Peacock is the current Arnold Strongwoman Classic defending champion, as the competition was not held in 2021 due to Covid-19, and according to the deadlift post caption, she has not started the preparation for the next edition yet.

The 2022 Arnold Strongwoman Classic is scheduled to happen from March 3-6, 2022, and if Melissa can accomplish these lifts in her off season then she could definitely be able to win the competition again.
