The 2024 Mr. Olympia is almost here with the event set to celebrate its 60th anniversary from October 10-13 in Las Vegas, Nevada. On October 10, Men’s Open and Classic Physique contenders met face-to-face for the official check-ins, giving fans a sneak peek of what to expect on the sport’s greatest stage.
Focus has quickly shifted to the Men’s Open division, as athletes ready their physiques for battle on Friday evening October 11 for prejudging. Among the frontrunners is reigning champion Derek Lunsford, who plans to replicate the success he had in 2023 after becoming the sport’s first two-division Mr. Olympia winner.
Hadi Choopan, the former 2022 Mr. Olympia, aims to recapture the Sandow trophy, having compiled significant momentum thanks to victories at the 2024 Arnold Classic Ohio and UK competitions. Samson Dauda, who took third place at the 2023 Olympia, will be in attendance with wind behind his sails courtesy of a dominant victory at the 2024 Tsunami Pro.
Andrew Jacked, a three-time Texas Pro winner, has all of the makings of a Mr. Olympia champion, just as long as he can dial in his conditioning to match the sheer mass he brings to the table. Former 2019 Mr. Olympia Brandon Curry has plans to win a second title as well. The lineup is stacked, the athletes are ready and fans were treated to a sneak peek of what to expect when the curtains rise.

Meanwhile, in Classic Physique, Chris Bumstead plans to fend off a handful of top contenders, including Wesley Vissers, Ramon Queiroz, Urs Kalecinski, and former two-time Classic Physique Olympia Breon Ansley, who isn’t short on confidence heading into another competition.

The lineup is deep this year with plenty of dark horses and unsuspecting contenders eager to clash. Hunter Labrada is always in the mix. Martin Fitzwater gave Nick Walker a run for his money en route to second place at the 2024 New York Pro; this will be his first Mr. Olympia contest. Rafael Brandao, one of Brazil’s most talented bodybuilders, is on a mission to break into the first callout.
Former two-time Arnold Classic winner William Bonac is back in action as well as surging Pros John Jewett, Theo Leguerrier, John Delarosa, Mohamed Foda, Akim Williams, and Bruno Santos, who all have ambitious plans for the sport’s biggest showcase.
A total of 11 IFBB Pro League divisions will be on display at the nearing 2024 Mr. Olympia as it celebrates its 60th anniversary.
