The 2024 Mr. Olympia kicks off in just four days from October 11-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In a recent YouTube video shared on October 6, 2024, bodybuilder Mike Sommerfeld gave his top six Men’s Open and Classic Physique predictions for the event’s 60th anniversary.
The 2024 Joe Weider’s Fitness and Performance Olympia Weekend will play host to all 11 IFBB Pro League divisions, who are set to battle for historic stakes including cash prizes as well as the sport’s ultimate title. In celebration of the event’s anniversary, Olympia President Dan Solomon has promised an electrifying weekend full of surprises and bodybuilding action.
In the Men’s Open headliner, Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan will rematch for gold. Both contenders are expected to bring all-time best physiques as predicted by their coach Hany Rambod. But with Samson Dauda surging thanks to a big win in France, he could spoil their plans of becoming two-time champions.
Classic Physique will also witness greatness as Chris Bumstead, the reigning five-time champion, looks to extend his reign. The lineup is stacked with threats from Ramon Queiroz, Wesley Vissers, and Urs Kalecinski to German standout Mike Sommerfeld.

Even though Chris Bumstead has hinted at his retirement, the Canadian native will aim to continue his reign of dominance atop the Classic Physique ladder this weekend. Bumstead believes even if his opponents reach ‘120 percent’ it won’t be enough to stop him from claiming another gold trophy.
Fans are also curious about Ramon Queiroz, who was unceremoniously ousted from his Arnold Classic throne by Wesley Vissers in March. ‘Dino’ has promised that he would come back better than ever at his next bodybuilding competition. For the past two years, the Classic Physique Olympia final callout was between Queiroz and Chris Bumstead.
With Mike Sommerfeld confident he can make waves on the marquee stage, there’s no telling who will end this prestigious event on the podium. Don’t miss the 2024 Mr. Olympia’s return to Las Vegas, Nevada October 11-12!
