It’s hunting season and Nick Walker intends to slay some big game when he takes on all of his rivals at the nearing 2024 Mr. Olympia competition. In a recent Instagram post published on August 9, 2024, ‘The Mutant’ showed off his deadlifting strength with two sets of 495 pounds for six reps.

Walker could possibly win the Mr. Olympia. He has picked up steam in the IFBB Pro League since making the Men’s Open division his stomping grounds. He is an Arnold Classic winner (2021) and placed third in his second Mr. Olympia contest.

To stamp his right to compete against the best in Las Vegas, Nevada this year, Walker had to win a Pro show, so he bet on himself, pushed all in, and won the 2024 New York Pro. Surprisingly, it wasn’t a shut-out performance as he was truly tested by the shape and conditioning of Martin Fitzwater.

Walker is coming back after devastation loomed over his 2023 bodybuilding season. He pulled out of the 2023 Olympia after sustaining tears to his hamstring and calf (which prevented him from walking temporarily). After seeing Mr. Lunsford enter the history books as a two-division Mr. Olympia titleholder, it was a bitter pill for Walker to swallow.

On to greener grass, Walker intends to make up for lost time at the 2024 Mr. Olympia. The lineup couldn’t be more stacked as returning champ Lusnford will set his sights on a second title and the same can be said for Hadi Choopan (the 2022 Mr. Olympia winner) who has fought hard this season ahead of the rematch.

Nick Walker Smashes 495 Pounds Deadlift for 6 Reps Weeks from 2024 Mr. Olympia

Check out the lift below:

“Switched up today for some deadlifts, deff keeping these in for awhile. I do like to go a touch heavier on these, performed sets of 6 here. Let’s see how much I can progress on these 495 for 2 sets, 6 reps each.” he shared

Even though Walker’s physique is plenty beastly, he actually trains with an extreme degree of carefulness and always pays attention to the minor details. He is strong enough to simply throw the weights around in the training room but instead lifts with proper technique and form, which could be why he’s found so much success as a surging Men’s Open division star.

His strength appears to be on another level; fans will have to wait and see his physique complete with final touches in the weeks to come. Don’t miss the 2024 Mr. Olympia this year from October 10-13, where he will look to win his first Sandow trophy.
