The finals of the 2019 Mr. Olympia take place tonight, in Las Vegas NV. Ahead of the end of the competition, we take a look at who will be finishing in the top 4 of this year’s competition based on the prejudging comparison rounds.
The prejudging for the 2019 Mr. Olympia took place last night, with athletes from around the world looking to claim the Olympia title. When the final four callout happened, it was made up of Brandon Curry, William Bonac, Roelly Winklaar and Hadi Choopan. So then the question becomes: who will win the whole thing?
Well looking at the prejudging, I think we have figured out how the event will shake out. All four of these men look incredible on the stage, clearly having brought top physiques to the competition. Therefore it will be hard for us to narrow it down, much less the judges.
Nevertheless, this is our predictions for how these four men will rank.
4. Roelly Winklaar
Roelly Winklaar came into this year’s competition as last year’s People’s Champ. Subsequently the expectations were high that we would see a big improvement, especially considering that the two people that beat him last year are not competing. For the most part, that has been true, as he looks simply incredible.
However, the reason that he may not land in the number one spot in this year’s Olympia, is a lack in solid conditioning. Winklaar has always had a bit of a struggle with his lower back too, and this year has proven no different.

That is not to say that his back is not elite level. However when compared to the physiques of the other three competitors, things are not promising. Additionally, some of the weaknesses around his midsection are still present, as we saw earlier in the year.
3. Hadi Choopan
Hadi Choopan was one of the most sought after bodybuilders in this year’s competition. With visa issues preventing him from previously competing in the west, this is his first time hitting the Olympia stage. Nonetheless, he debuted with a bang, taking to the Open division like an experienced pro.
The big deciding factor in his placing as third, is the appearance of his physique. While Choopan is looking amazing, he is not quite as big as the other competitors. Additionally, the general shape of his physique leaves a little bit to be desired. No matter what, it is still unbelievably impressive to see a debutante have such a showing.
2. William Bonac
William Bonac came into the competition having fired his coach, Neil Hill. Subsequently, there were questions as to how good he would have been able to prepare without him. However, those questions were laid to rest the moment he took the stage at the Olympia pre-judging.
Bonac’s physique is very well-rounded, and his back may be the best in the competition. However, he is missing a bit of symmetry in his core. This could very well be the deciding factor, as the finals of the Olympia is won on the small things.
1. Brandon Curry
Brandon Curry has been one of the big favorites of many, heading into the 2019 Mr. Olympia. He has shown a massive improvement from some of his past performances, which led many to believe he would walk away with the title. In fact, before last year’s Mr. Olympia, Shawn Rhoden, was ruled ineligible to compete, it was thought that Curry could be his biggest opponent.
Those thoughts were confirmed when Curry took to the Olympia pre-judging stage. His physique is complete with everything you would expect from Mr. Olympia. He has good size and conditioning, and it seems likely that he will be crowned this year’s champion.
The finals of the 2019 Mr. Olympia take place tonight, at 7:00pm PT (10:00pm ET). You can watch the action here live, and check back with FitnessVolt for all the updates.
I do not agree with these analysis at all, to me it looks like no one showed up to win this year. Quite disappointing line up so far, all athletes look far from their best shape, especially Roelly, very flat and terrible conditioning. I actually have Hadi Choopan in 1st, he is the only one who looks impressive so far.
