Shanon Sharpe is showcasing jaw-dropping power well into his retirement — and fans have taken notice. In a recent Instagram reel, (published on July 29, 2024), Sharpe shared his ‘crazy back day workout, where he pushed the pace and showed off his jarring strength at the young age of 56. 

As a successful tight end for the NFL, Shannon Sharpe sports a wide array of accomplishments. He ranked third in tight end receptions and was the first talent to eclipse 10,000 receiving yards, making him one of the most versatile players to emerge from the league. He also etched out his own spot in the Football Hall of Fame in 2011.

NFL Legend Shannon Sharpe Showcases Raw Power at 56 With ‘Crazy Back Day’ Workout

Shannon Sharpe has shown off his shredded physique after turning 54, and two years later, at age 56, Sharpe proves he’s still got it in spades. Taking to an Instagram reel recently, the former NFL mainstay shared his ‘crazy’ back day workout, showcasing his strength. 

“Crazy BACK DAY!!! We gone push it to the limit every time!!! 😮‍💨 I don’t wake up 2 waste it 💪🏾💯” Sharpe wrote.

This isn’t the first time Shannon Sharpe has drawn eyeballs for his athletic prowess. Previously, he joined renowned bodybuilding coach Milos Sarcev, who pushed him through a brutal giant set leg workout. Considering Sarcev is responsible for training Men’s Open standouts such as Regan Grimes and Samson Dauda, who has gone as far as third place on the Mr. Olympia stage, Sharpe took notes when he could from the best in the industry. 

Shannon Sharpe also joined hands with the former seven-time Mr. Olympia-winning machine Phil Heath, where they annihilated a back and triceps workout. Phil Heath provided his tips on training like a bodybuilder throughout the session, and after his latest workout, it’s clear that Sharpe has since utilized that clutch advice. 

Shannon Sharpe is only improving with age like fine wine, consistently adding to his training arsenal. His years as a professional football player, combined with the insights he’s collected in the fitness industry have played a role in his shredded physique at 56 years old. Not to mention, we’re sure the time pumping iron alongside ‘The Mind’ Milos Sarcev has done wonders for him whenever he pushes intense workouts at the gym.
