Men’s 212 standout Shaun Clarida is gearing up for the upcoming 2023 Arnold Classic, scheduled for March 2-5 in Columbus, Ohio. In a recent post made on Instagram, Clarida shared that he’s weighing 190 pounds peeled four weeks from the show.
Reigning two-time 212 Mr. Olympia champion Shaun Clarida gained attention for his overall package in 2014. He scored his first win in the division at the 2015 IFBB Vancouver Pro, which earned him entry into the Mr. Olympia competition. He established himself as a promising contender in the IFBB Pro League with frequent contest participation.
Clarida finally secured his maiden Olympia title at the 2020 Mr. Olympia when he dethroned former champion Kamal Elgargni. The following year in 2021, Clarida turned heads with a dominant performance at the IFBB Legion Sports Fest Pro. He decided to compete in the Open bodybuilding event and defeated Regan Grimes and Sergio Oliva Jr. to win the contest.
Former 212 Olympia victor Derek Lunsford knocked Clarida off the throne in 2021 to win the title. Lunsford made a switch to the Men’s Open division after accepting a special invitation that was previously held for Flex Lewis.

Renowned bodybuilding guru Dennis James extended his support for Clarida, who he believes will ‘kill a few guys’ on the stage in Ohio. Clarida will need to ward off contenders like Nick Walker, Samson Dauda, and Andrew Jacked.

In a recent post made on Instagram, Shaun Clarida revealed that he’s tipping the scales at 190 pounds. He shared an impressive physique update where he showed off his conditioning just four weeks out of the 2023 Arnold Classic.
Clarida referenced the compliment he received from bodybuilding icon Jay Cutler. The four-time Mr. Olympia winner backed Clarida as the ‘X Factor’ for the contest.
“THE X FACTOR. Talking with @jaycutler this past weekend, he called me the X Factor for this upcoming Arnold Classic. Sitting 4 weeks out at 190lbs.”
‘The Giant Killer’ gave fans a look into his current preparations with a heavy back workout seven weeks out from the show. He has his eyes on first place and expects an intense battle with his teammate Walker, who is also coached by Matt Jansen. Although they are friends off-stage, Clarida won’t let it affect the competition.
