The 2019 CrossFit Games are finally in the books. After a big weekend of competition, Tia-Clair Toomey and Mat Fraser are the New CrossFit champions.
Update: 2019 CrossFit Games – Final Standings
Tia-Clair Toomey
Going into the final day of competition, Toomey was looking to rebound from a somewhat lackluster Day 3. Despite that, she was ahead on the leaderboards, going into the final competition.
After the Swim Paddle Event, where Toomey finished first overall, the last event of the day was The Standard. This event consisted of 30 clean-and-jerks, 30 muscle-ups, and 30 snatches. Additionally, this was done with 90lbs for females, and 135lbs for males, with a 12 minute time limit.
Although there were strong attempts from other athletes, Toomey dominated the female side. She would go on to complete the event with a total time of 8:25:09. This cemented her as the top female athlete of the 2019 CrossFit Games.

“Congrats to our first ever 3 time female CrossFit Games Champion. Tia Clair Toomey.”
As this Instagram post alludes to, Toomey becomes the first female competitor to win the CrossFit Games for three times.
This was a goal she mentioned wanting to accomplish, and she was ecstatic to achieve it. Considering how dominate she was throughout the entire games, she has every reason to be proud.
Mat Fraser
On the male side of things, Mat Fraser was the individual winner.
He overcame a penalty, to earn his fourth title in these games. Additionally, he had been having a tough showing in Day 3. However, he went on to win both of the final day’s events, passing Noah Ohlson in points.
Congrats to Tia-Clair Toomey and Mat Fraser for winning the 2019 CrossFit Games. What did you think of their performances over the course of the weekend?
