With limited Olympia qualifying spots available this season, the 2025 California State Championships, held on May 24 in Anaheim, California, became a high-stakes battleground for Men’s Open competitors. The lineup featured just 13 athletes, but every pose-down counted, especially with no prior Olympia-qualified athletes in the mix.
Regan Grimes Wins 2025 California State Pro, Qualifies for Mr. Olympia!
Regan Grimes, making his second appearance of the season, delivered a refined and dominant physique to secure first place. After finishing fourth at the 2025 New York Pro behind Nick Walker, Grimes came into this show with purpose. His year-long off-season paid off, earning him a well-deserved 2025 Olympia qualification.
Sasan Heirati, who’s been knocking at the door all season long, once again proved himself a formidable contender. After a second-place finish at the 2025 Detroit Pro and a fifth-place showing in New York, he came close once more with another runner-up finish, but the win still eludes him.
