The results of the 2025 New York Pro have the bodybuilding community talking. Regan Grimes joined Jay Cutler on May 23, 2025 to discuss the show’s outcome and Nick Walker’s best poses.
Nick Walker was counted out by the bodybuilding community before his return, mainly because he withdrew from the last two Mr. Olympia contests. Despite the doubt, Walker made a statement at the Pittsburgh Pro, pushing Derek Lunsford to the edge of defeat.
While Lunsford prevented Walker from qualifying for the Olympia, ‘The Mutant’ bounced back a week later with a dominant win at the New York Pro. With the season’s biggest event on the horizon, Grimes and Cutler gave their assessment of Walker’s latest improvements.

During the YouTube video, Grimes explained that those who watched Pittsburgh in person mostly thought Lunsford won. In contrast, fans who observed at home mostly argued that Walker should’ve gotten the nod.

“I believe Nick was winning the prejudging. He came out very, very strong. Then, the night show was basically a tie. They just posed them and from what I know, Nick started to fade a little bit and Derek didn’t. They gave it to Derek,” shared Grimes.
“People that were actually there, I wasn’t there, but the event looked amazing. The people there said who watched it through the TV, robbery, robbery, robbery. The people that were there, a lot of them say Derek was the clear winner.”
Cutler highlighted that Walker doesn’t have weak poses. He believes his back is arguably the best in the business, made even stronger by his peaked biceps.
“Nick doesn’t have a lot of weak poses. We criticize the front lat spread but in person, and he’s got a lot of other poses. He arguably had the best back. He’s got the full combination now. He’s got the arms too, we talk about that. Derek’s got the crazy back but he doesn’t have the peaks,” shared Cutler.
“They got to be on the other side of 23 [inches],” Grimes said about Walker’s arms.”
Grimes interjected, confirming that the most muscular pose belongs to Nick Walker:
“That’s his pose. No one comes close to this pose for him,” shared Grimes. “Nick is just too powerful in this pose. Hadi [is the only one that can contend with Walker in this shot]. Samson too.”
According to Cutler, he was told that Walker wasn’t quite as sharp in New York as he was in Pittsburgh.
“I was told he wasn’t even as good in New York as he was in Pittsburgh,” said Cutler.
Controversy over the rightful winner of the Pittsburgh Pro has consumed the bodybuilding community. Former six-time Olympia Dorian Yates and Rich Gaspari both believe that Walker should have won the event against Lunsford.
Fans are thrilled for the upcoming Olympia, and all signs point to another stacked event. The show will take place from October 9-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
