Ryan Terry is after a dynasty heading into the 2025 Mr. Olympia. In a recent YouTube video shared on Sept. 13, 2025, he joined Chris Bumstead for a chest training session three weeks before hitting the stage.

Terry achieved his lifelong dream of winning the Men’s Physique Olympia after years of struggle. In 2024, he cemented himself as a two-time Olympia champion, proving that his first victory wasn’t a fluke. Between a strict recovery protocol and a carefully tailored workout plan, he plans to showcase an even stronger look this October.

Incline Dumbbell Press

During incline dumbbell presses, Bumstead advised Terry to watch how low he keeps his food intake because it could spike cortisol levels, hindering progress and recovery. Terry agreed that if he pushes too hard, it could backfire:

“We’re getting that three-peat no matter what,” said Terry. “I’m so fired up, it could go against me if I’m not careful.”

“The thing is, what is actually hard to you? You want to starve yourself because of the way you feel, but it’s actually harder for you to eat a little bit more, and that’s what you need,” said Bumstead.

Terry was inspired by how Bumstead approached his past Olympia preps and wants to follow that same blueprint.

“My whole 20 years of training was to get that title, that Olympia title, to then win it, and finding that motivation to go again, and to be confident and just enjoy the process — I think he was very similar to me — always looking for the next title and never being in the moment and just enjoying the process.”

Chest Press Machine

Bumstead said they kept volume higher than he’s used to throughout the session.

“More volume than my chest has had since I retired, all in one day,” added Bumstead.

Pushups

Next, they followed up with a few pushups to pump more blood into the chest.

Cable Crossovers

Lastly, Terry and Bumstead performed cable crossovers with the pulleys positioned high, emphasizing upper pec development.

Terry will face a stiff lineup at the Men’s Physique Olympia this year. Jeremy Buendia, a former four-time Men’s Physique champion, has announced that he’ll compete in his final Mr. Olympia contest, but before doing so, he intends to dominate the Sasquatch Pro as a warmup. Terry also has Ali Bilal, along with former champs Erin Banks and Brandon Hendrickson, to deal with.

The 2025 Mr. Olympia will be Terry’s chance to remind his rivals why he’s number one in the world. Don’t miss the event, which will take over Las Vegas, Nevada, from Oct. 9-12.
