Early career
He won the German Championships in 2008 and spent the following years in the amateur ranks, taking third at both the Amateur Olympia and the Arnold Amateur in 2011 and third at the Amateur Olympia Europe in 2014. The Amateur Olympia Spain title in 2015 made him a professional. Fourteen of his twenty recorded contests are professional and the record closes in 2021.
