Brazilian bodybuilder Wanderson Da Silva Moreira has tragically passed away at the age of just 30. The bodybuilding community is mourning this heartbreaking loss, as the young athlete collapsed on stage during a competition and was later pronounced dead.

Originating from Rondonopolis, Wanderson Da Silva Moreira built an impressive bodybuilding career and was hoping to take another massive step. He was competing at the 2025 Pantanal Bodybuilding Championship in Campo Grande, western Brazil. The organizers of the competition confirmed the passing of Wanderson on their Instagram.

Wanderson Da Silva Moreira was on stage when he started losing his balance. He ended up collapsing on stage in front of the judges and the live audience. The medical team quickly intervened but was unable to save him despite their extensive efforts. While there is no official news, reports indicate that Wanderson suffered a heart attack.

“It is with great sorrow that we bring the news of the loss of our great athlete Wanderson, who yesterday fell ill during his third consecutive competition in Campo Grande, MS, and unfortunately passed away,” said the caption on the Pantal Contest Instagram (translation).

The 2025 Pantanal Bodybuilding Championships is one of the biggest local bodybuilding events, serving as a path to some even bigger competitions like the Mr. Olympia Brazil and Arnold Classic South America. So, having great aspirations in the sport, Wanderson came in shredded, hoping to secure as high of a placing as possible.

The organizers of the competition reiterated that the response of their medical team was quick and methodical. So, they gave their all to try to save the life of Wanderson.

Check out the statement here:

“We reinforce our commitment to the safety of our athletes — within less than 20 seconds, our team of paramedics and the on-site ambulance began assisting the athlete, and within 5 minutes, two additional SAMU units with ICUs also provided a rapid emergency response. All necessary procedures were performed in an attempt to save his life.” (Translation)

The organizers also revealed that Wanderson Da Silva Moreira leaves behind his wife and children

Wanderson Da Silva Moreira’s death comes just days after the passing of another Brazilian bodybuilder, Guilherme Henrique. Guilherme also passed away at the age of 30-years-old. Both cases are a part of a string of deaths that have struck the bodybuilding community in recent months.

German bodybuilder and actor Vittorio Pirbazari was on the treadmill when he collapsed and lost his life. On the other hand, the 20-year-old Jodi Vance passed away during the Arnold Sports Festival after throwing up the entire night.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and loved ones of Wanderson Da Silva Moreira. His dedication and passion left a lasting mark on the bodybuilding community, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps. May his memory live on, and may he rest in peace.
