Labrada’s Arm Day Workout
- Barbell JM Press
- Single Arm Cable Triceps Push Down
- One-Arm Dumbbell Preacher Curl
- Step Forward Cable Curls
Labrada explains that this workout has been a part of his training routine over the last few weeks.
“Today’s session is going to be the same session that we’ve been running for like 6-8 weeks now.”
Smith Machine Barbell JM Press
Jumping straight into the workout, Hunter Labrada begins with Smith machine barbell JM presses.
“There was a point in time when I was doing skullcruhsers with dumbbells like 80 or 90 pounds, it was ridiculous.”
Labrada emphasizes the importance of keeping the elbows tucked.
“Yeah buddy,” said Labrada. “One of the most important things is to keep your elbows as tucked as possible. The best queue that I’ve gotten for these is when you’re in the hole, feel like your front squatting, like you’re legitimately thinking about getting your elbows out of the way of your body.”
Single Arm Cable Triceps Push Down
Next, Hunter Labrada moved into single-arm cable tricep push-downs.
“I used to go bicep, tricep, bicep, tricep on my arm day. That’s how I did things, that’s what made my elbows feel the best. There wasn’t a huge rhyme or reason to it. Since we had the RP guys down, they showed us that JM press variation that we started with today.”
“The thought process is start with the biggest demand in terms of output and it’s by far that press on arm day. Second one, still that tricep pushdown. I basically ordered the session in terms of energy demand.”
One-Arm Dumbbell Preacher Curl
To properly tax the biceps, Labrada pushed to failure on one-arm dumbbell preacher curls, utilizing a deep stretch and slow contractions.
Step Forward Cable Curls
For his last movement, Labrada did step-forward cable curls, ensuring he gets a full stretch.
“Step forward cable curls but we’ve started to only curl them up to the top, really thinking about letting them stretch out to return to that starting position. Getting that nice strict form curl and then coming out and riding the tension down. Definitely a novel stimulus on the way down.”
Wrapping it up, Labrada reviewed his work in addition to providing a shredded physique update.
“Coming up on eight weeks out by the time y’all see this I’ll be eight weeks out for sure. Everything is happening exactly the way it should be. Everything is coming off easy, training performance is staying high, I’d be lying to y’all if I said in the last week or so my energy didn’t take a pretty big hit but we’re coming up on eight weeks out so that’s par for the course.”
“The next eight weeks are going to be obviously about getting the body fat off but truly managing my recovery and keeping my body fresh. I’ve been there done that in terms of running myself into the dirt.”
If Hunter Labrada successfully claims his ticket to the prestigious 2024 Mr. Olympia stage, he will still face the grueling task of going up against some of the Men’s Open division’s finest. This includes not only the current champion Derek Lunsford but also former titleholder Hadi Choopan, who recently shared an update boasting his absolutely shredded physique.
In addition to those two frontrunners, Hunter Labrada will also go toe-to-toe with Nick Walker, who is guaranteed to bring the freak factor. Men’s Open superstar Samson Dauda will be gracing the stage as well after recently shifting coaches and moving to the Oxygen Gym in Kuwait as he prepares for bodybuilding’s biggest event.
Fans will have to wait to see what the future has in store for the Open knockout Hunter Labrada. Considering his intense training schedule and his impressive physique updates, Labrada certainly has what it takes to bring home the win and secure his spot on the 2024 Mr. Olympia stage.
